He must be a bit thick not knowing why he is not playing. It's simple Angel, play like you did for about the first 5-6 matches and you will be automatic choice. Play with disinterest like you did the rest of the season, and you will be on the bench.

The Otamendi thing is going to drag on for a while, he would be naive to agree to a deal with City at a time at which United/Real could be interested and I can see this dragging to August.

Absolutely agree with this. He is available and should be a no brainer for the defensive/holding midfield role. He can also play a little higher up if that is what LvG wants.
Not the place to discuss di maria's form but I grow tired of hearing this. He played the majority of the world cup, then was hit by injury and his house was almost burgled. All why trying to adapt to a new culture and playing style he isn't used to in a tough league.

Pretty highly, I'd probably rate him as the best CB in the league - more complete than Smalling, and less dependent on a defensive system than Terry.
