You have to wonder the our actually targets are at this rate. With this much time gone and pretty much nothing to go on, we can assume we are going after some big fish otherwise we could have had most of our business done already. I do hope the club aren't letting gettable targets go in the hope of getting players less eager to play for the club who may have a bigger name.

I wouldn't rule-out us suddenly announcing signings out of nowhere - similar to the famous couple of days last season with Herrera and Shaw. What seems certain is that the English hacks know nothing about what we are doing since Moyes left unless the club clearly wants to us them to improve our position in negotiations (e.g. the Ramos briefing that clearly happened over the weekend).

Given all the talk of us getting our business done early and LVG wanting the squad together for a full pre-season, then you really can't be surprised people are getting a little concerned about what we are doing given that expectation of early action.

Liverpool took Firminho off our hands.
Arsenal took Cech.
Now City are after Otamendi.
We're after Ramos, we'll end up with Arbeloa.

No, they just made a offer, we didn't.
No, he wanted to stay in London, end of.
Nonsense story regarding the Negredo money City are owed, they need to focus on homegrown players and Otamendi certainly isn't one of them.
Ramos, maybe. But he'll sign a new deal at Real eventually.

Hope this isn't true. Di Maria will come good!
So far the clubs interested to him seem to be PSG, Bayern and now Barca.
But apparently we can't get the best out of him. It would be so annoying if we sold him only to see him flourish again at another top club.

That's the spirit. Well done.

Not sure why people are worrying? Last summer was pretty similar, after we signed Shaw and Herrera early in the window there was quite a stretch in which we saw no movement from us, people panicked then too.

I see where you're coming from. However, it didn't work out well at all. Our transfer strategy cost us a hell of lot, whether it be challenging for the league or finishing higher than 4th. Remember, we picked up 13 points from our first 10, and our inability to make quick signings contributed heavily towards our slow start.

Still with how quickly we wrapped up deals last summer I still see us signing three or four players before pre-season. This is how we'll operate from now on, I think, there'll be some opportunist signings, like Falcao, too.

Has Schneiderlin taken a sabbatical or something?

Yesterday, I was thinking about the fact that he had a knee injury, maybe the clubs interested in signing him want to see him first.

LVG said he wants the squad training together in pre season so we can hit the ground running, we spent ages experimenting last year and it cost us.

We could sign two players out of the blue tomorrow? It's how we operated last summer. I'm not worried.

Of course, I don't think anyone is truly worried. People are just impatient, myself included. Wodoward and LVG talking up a massive early summer doesn't help, even though it's still early days .

I'm Kermit the frog when it comes to transfers.

Probably everyone will disagree but getting this guy to work for us should be one of the priorities for next year. If he's on good/great form then we will really have that extra spice to push us towards a title.
His talent is undeniable, and his comments this summer suggest he has the stomach for a fight, which all Utd players should have, he is going to be massive for us this season.

Would it be possible to get a similar thread to this but exclusively for United news?

This transfer window is boring as hell. Come on to feck Woody, get off your arse and get us some decent signings! Depay is feeling lonely at this stage.

Do you think we were ever genuinely interested in Firminio? Because if we we're there's no reason why a foreign player would choose Liverpool over us.

Also, I think Cech stated he wanted to stay in London.

I was thinking the same thing a while back, but overall I think I actually prefer it like this. I get news (well, Twitter rumours) I wouldn't normally bother to check on because United news is mixed in with it.

Yeah that's a good point, but I've just kinda realised I don't give a shit where Mohammed Salah or Robert Huth end up.

More to the point, it's hard finding tweets relevant to United amongst all the other ones, even in the read only tweet section.
