Rather have Clyne if had to choose between the two....younger and will be considerably cheaper than Coleman.

And we're supposedly looking at Kane for £40 - £50 mil?? Why do we always get our pants pulled down over transfers?!?
Not saying Kane is worth that. But even ignoring that Kane is at least currently better and much younger + English (which drives your price up anyway) how much was Chicharito worth to us last season? Can't be much if we loaned him out. And on top of that if his manager even claims that a few goals don't change anything then the whole football world knows we don't need him and want to get rid.
On the other hand Kane was Spurs' top scorer and had an overall brilliant season. As a result he is much much much more worth to Spurs than Chicharito is to us.
We have been generally bad at selling players but I don't think Chicharito's suggested value is that ridiculous.

Also, isn't Hernandez is the last year of his contract?

More on the potential Cech to Arsenal deal:

Arsene Wenger insists Walcott or Oxlade-Chamberlain will not be part of a deal for Petr Cech:

Can't see this happening, but oh well, here goes:

Cristiano Ronaldo's £87m move to PSG hinges on the sale of Zlatan Ibrahimovic:

We must be confident of either DDG is leaving or Lloris is coming if we let Cech go to Arsenal this easily. For £11 million as well..

Cech is a great keeper, but doesn't fit van Gaal's keeper profile. I highly doubt we're even interested to be fair.

I wouldn't know definitively, but i have a hunch van Gaal doesn't want him. If Valdes can improve his ability dealing with crosses, he'll be fine.

A goalkeeper is a goalkeeper. I for one am not bothered whether or not my keeper is good with his feet as long as he keeps the ball out of the net.

Those are strong reasons actually, especially the one about him not wanting to leave London. If that's the case then we can't do anything about it.

I wouldn't mind if Valdes was our first choice keeper if De Gea leaves.

He nees to check his ego at the door and realize his keeper profile does not work in the PL.

It has nothing to do with ego, but the fact that we play a high line, it's not a good idea to change your defensive system because of your goalkeeper.

Doubt van Gaal thinks so, he signed Valdes because Lindegaard didn't fit the profile. At the WC he never chose Hollands best keepers either, but judged them on the total picture. Krul/Vorm are better shotstoppers than Vermeer/Cillessen, but not known for their sweeping/passing. He said so himself.

I don't think Cech will be great with a high defensive line, constant backpasses and being instructed to play in the positional game. He could be just as bad as a talent who is capable but has to settle in, but with the knowledge Cech won't improve much at 33.

He nees to check his ego at the door and realize his keeper profile does not work in the PL.

Why not?

It's an even worse idea to favour a goalkeeper who is good with his feet over one that dominates the 18 yard area and is strong against aerial threats in a league like the PL.

I fecking hate how every player has to be "Van Gaal ready" in order to sign for us. What happened to the days when we signed goalkeepers who could keep, strikers who could score a bucket load, defenders who can defend and weren't chosen because of their preferred foot & wingers who had pace and created chances for our strikers.

Having every fecking player in this specific mold just sounds like an early excuse for future failure when you can't find him.

He doesn't dominate the box since his injury, he his great on the line but sometimes shaky/hesitant on high balls.
