Not so sure, they have a young squad so they might benefit from a young manager with energy and new ideas.
Chelsea are in great form, the players seem to have completely bought in to Poch. Getting rid of him now isn't going to end well, especially bringing in someone unproven at the top level

Sounds like no matter what, McKenna won't be staying with Ipswich. Feel bad for them, they're likely going to be smashed ala Sheff Utd without McKenna there (good chance this would have happened anyway). Correct move by McKenna. Brighton might be wisest move but can't blame him if he wants to go straight to Utd or Chelsea

Chelsea would be a mad move for him, no young coach should be thinking that club is an environment for them to learn/progress in.

Brighton would be a much safer choice. His previous United links make a move back to Manchester a lot safer also.

Chelsea! would be another Potter repeat.

Bit of recency bias here I think. We were dire going forward before we bought Bruno, absolutely dire.

If you mean more generally, I think we’ve been on a downward spiral for a long time, not much of that is attributable to Bruno.

He can be frustrating sometimes, for various reasons, but his effort and output on the pitch can’t be questioned. He also conducts himself, off the pitch, in a manner befitting a United captain (in complete contrast to some of his on pitch histrionics!).

I think the court of public opinion is too quick to jump on him, and it’s easy to get sucked in by it (I know I have before), if you take a step back and look at the bigger picture you should see the positives far outweigh the occasional negatives.

As for his salary, if that’s even an issue, that’s none of my business.

If there are issues a sensible approach might be to allow him to go elsewhere if he can find a buyer who’ll improve his salary and pay us what we deem to be fair (both being true would be optimistic to say the least). If not he has a contract that he’s signed and needs to honour.
Well, well. A balanced perspective! (Gets back on horse)

Typical Chelsea - they keep him while Chelsea look shite, and when they turn it around and suddenly look like a decent side, then they fire him :)

Is he in high demand or is Nick Purewal, whoever he is, guessing that he should be in high demand?

Stories about his departure from Chelsea are saying he wanted more power, and the club wanted him to fit into a broader management structure. If that's true, then doesn't sound like he would be a target for us given our whole restructure and the appointments of Berrada, Wilcox and Ashworth. Can very easily see him going to Bayern though.

Not sure why so many managers out there asks for control outside the actual coaching role?
Isn`t it nice to leave the ins and outs in the squad to a dedicated recruitment team and just concentrate 100% on getting the coaching and set up for games spot on. It feels like that should be a full time job and then some at this level.

Maybe the manager knows a player the club wants to come in is a bad influence in the dressing room from past experience and will wreck team chemistry.

So you risk ending up with players you dont want ? I can promise you that Klopp and Mourinho had a lot of say in every transfer coming to Liverpool and city over the last few years. It has to be a good mix between the manager and the club

I can't imagine Jose sanctioning good signings for either club, not sure he's a fan.

I would assume a good recruitment group would have regular talks with the manager to get valuable input, of course.
Good communications is key. But you get the feeling that a lot of managers wants close to full control over transfer targets.

Doesn’t work that way all next season he’ll be 30 not 29, his days of playing PL football at 29 are gone bar one weekend in August 2024, time to cash in while we can
Saudi will give him £500k per week I’m sure .

Kevin De Bruyne is 32. Would you bin him off? I'm not even particularly a big a fan of Bruno but he has whole seasons at ages 30, 31, 32 under contract. I'd keep him on his current deal and if he is still at a high level 2 years from now discuss extensions in the same way Madrid have handled Modric and Kroos.
