I don't recall us doing so many emergency deals in the past. We seem more pro-active to the shit being thrown at us with injuries and so. Not that it made much of a positive difference with Wout and Sabitzer, but still.

Anyway, I'm glad this farse is almost over.

There's a very good chance we already have. I'm not sure why people are assuming he's still a united player.

The lack of clarity in the statement from United and not a single media report of us cancelling his contract. I would have thought this would have been leaked and reported by now if it had happened.

Usually someone's future being away from the club is the type of HR talk for moving someone out of the business.

We also confirmed/leaked he wouldn't play for us again and we wouldn't have a right to keep him away indefinitely. He's gone in my opinion but we'll find out soon enough.

No mention of Amrabat - doubling down on his “United were never interested” stance.

So, no moving Greenwood, McTominay, Maguire or Martial, and no new midfielder. With Maguire we at least seriously tried, and Martial was probably undoable given his injury, but you'd have hoped something could be done with Greenwood, and in my view we've unwisely priced McTominay out of the market. Amrabat, who we clearly need, has been strung along all window. A bit disappointing, if this turns out to be right.

He’s definitely “gone” one way or the other but I think United have held on to hope of getting a fee for him.

The problem is that everyone now knows he won’t play for us again and therefore has no value to us and will likely be a free agent very soon if he isn’t already. So I imagine it would prove very difficult for United to command any kind of transfer fee and obviously limited interest due to the moral implications of it all.

In the next 30 hours we seem to do (complete) deals for:
* Henderson (out)
* Bayindir (in)
* Reguilon (in)
* van de Beek (out)
* Amrabat (in)

Heck a lot to do.

And absolute silence on Bailly front.

Henderson & Bayındır are done deals.
Waiting for Reguilon announcement.

Will Amrabat arrive?
Will Van de Beek leave?

Just under 14 hours left.

Ornstein said last night that Amrabat is on track.

Amongst the list of the dumbest things this club has done in recent years, which is lengthy. Coming out & saying he won’t play for us again then expecting to make some form of profit is far & away the dumbest.

If the decision was for him to leave fine but being rushed into that statement will prove costly. Should have kept quiet, you know like they did for 18 months anyway & worked on a deal in the background.

This Summer has been an embarrassment on so many levels.

In hindsight he could have been “moved on” for a modest fee to an overseas club when the allegations were dropped.

All we’ve done by leading our own internal investigation is put more spotlight on the issue and delayed the inevitable outcome of him having to leave the club. All of the publicity has only served to make his exit more difficult.

The club were clearly desperate to retain him in some way, probably due to the deficiencies in the current squad and the cost of replacing him with a similar talent.

A £1750 bet on Maguire to stay returns £2000 by 3rd Sept on sky bet.

£2500 on Pogba to stay at Juve returns £2750.

Free £500 right there.

Exactly but the intention was never to move him, rightly or wrongly. Once you arrive at the decision to let him go though you don’t play the hand the way the club did.

We are shambolic at negotiating be that ins or outs & heads should roll, the only way that will happen is a club sale though.

Even if he doesn't join, it is fairly obvious that the club were interested and made attempts to sign him. So him not joining would do absolutely nothing for his credibility.

It's not fairly obvious, could be another Gaitan or Carvallho for all we know.

We’re getting done all the business people don’t really care about. Where’s our midfielder !?

I'd be pretty happy if McT stayed and got minutes.. Amrabat can stay at Fiorentina.

Key point from the article is Manchester United haven't denied that the private jet is for Amrabat.

presumably if Fernandez is up to the task, he'll play anyway. No sense putting up 50m to buy Roberto Carlos in this situation.

This one doesn't make sense, if Fernandez was up to the task then we wouldn't be signing Reguilon.

It's a crime what the Glazers have done to our club. How are Manchester United of all fecking clubs this skint?

We wouldn’t dare end the window with Spurs 3rd choice LB and a GK we will rarely ever see play. Not with the massive gaping void in our midfield…Amrabat must surely be signed.

I think we will sign him. The Henderson deal gave us £20M net head room on our FFP. We saved £7M on the left back loan and signed Bayındır for £5M.

Because I like McT as a squad player and dont find Amrabat impressive.

We have gone way too long signing average players as squad fillers.

We'll at least play Amrabat in the correct position for him though, we never do with McTom.

Plus we've had what, six years of McTom? We know what he's good at and what he isn't (and still refuse to accommodate that) so it's always nice to see new blood instead of the same old.
