I’ve said it before but this is eerily similar to Mourinho’s last few months.
An absolute shambles of a transfer window and then poor performances kick in.
How long before people start turning on EtH when the results start going downhill.

they turned on him last season when we had the wobble near the end of the season after winning the Carabao cup. They turned on him again when he signed Mount (nothing player they said) and again when he signed Hojlund (too young, too inexperienced, too expensive). Then even more turned after the pre-season defeats, the Wolves performance, the spurs defeat, the Forest match (we conceded two goals... two! it's an outrage)

Numerous United fans are happy to sack a manager after one game. I even saw them saying losing 7-0 to Liverpool should have seen him sacked the next day.

I'll caveat this post by saying I do not mind constructive criticism of the manager or any player, but too often it's short-term, knee-jerk nonsense with little thought put into it.

Would be somewhat progressive if we have this one lined up for next summer. Looks an incredible talent - be surprised if City don't go in for him.

Shame that's a shite source, he looks fantastic for his age.

Glazers takes money that Manchester United makes (i see us fans as a part of Manchester United) and gives the money to themself.
Manchester United would make a lot of money without the Glazers also, so i am not sure we are talking about the same thing?

I know they dont care about me.

My point was that, as a supporter you’re no more a part of man Utd than people who buy a picture of prince andrew are part of the royal family.
You might feel that your emotional investment gives you some say in the business but you don’t get a say without being part of the ownership.

There are other models of ownership where fans do have a financial stake but Barca are making them look a bit grim atm.

Its a load of rubbish, we are broke. We can't afford Amarbat loan fee but we are buying someone from Benfica whose whole strategy is to buy at tin prices and sell for gold.
This clickbait tweets are just that.
We need a LB, CM,CB and striker ( no MG) and out of the 4 with 24 hrs to go ,we may scrap an LB over the line but the rest isn't happening.

I doubt city are spending another 80 million plus on a defender next summer. United may actually have a good chance of getting him. Agreed he does seem to be a great talent, has all the attributes to be a top level player.

I dont think i have anything to say in the business part.
I think i am a part of Manchester United.

He’s a midfielder

What you said was “We, Manchester United, makes that money”.

My point was that you, as a Man Utd supporter, pay in a teeny tiny infinitesimally little part of that money (but only if you go to games, buy merchandise, subscribe to services etc.) in your role as a punter, without any say or investment stake in the business.
Whereas they, the Glazers and shareholders many and various, make the money.

There’s a big difference between you (or the royal ‘we’ as you put it) making [earning] money and you spending [giving] money to someone else . . in this case the Glazers et al who actually own the lucrative business that is Man Utd.

Anyhow, no point in chewing at this but thanks and a big thumbs up, once again, to you for bringing memories of the funkiest possible bass back into my head.

Yeah, no point on going back and forth, i agree.
I feel that Manchester United, that i am a part of, makes that money for glazers and they are using Manchester United, that i am a part of, as a cash cow. You feel different. It dont matter really, as you say, we means nothing to them. But we can affect them imo.

Bootsy Baba, we came to funk withchu.

The owners have given the club nothing but crippling debt, mismanagement, dithering and 10 years of Ed Woodward.

You realise it's the club's money they are 'giving'? It's not over the top to suggest more astute owners would be have had a much better transfer policy.
Yes it’s the clubs money buying the clubs players? I’m happy with the amount of money the club has spent on players
I’m not happy with the actual players bought

And posts like your enable and empower the Glazers to dig their claws deeper into our club. This attitude is why they are satisfied to hold onto the club and continue their 18 years of decline and decay When they should be selling up and fecking off with their billions of stolen cash.

And Klopp is a WC coach with a stable football hierarchy and really good DOF behind him. The amount he spent is irrelevant, it’s all about the planning and vision. Our club has been given Woodward, Judge and any flavour of the month manager for the last 10years with no thought for progression or continuity. The fact we have had to spend so much is frankly an indictment of those in charge, and their chronic mismanagement of the club especially when we have so little to show for it.

my original point is funds have been made available to buy players , that can not be argued against

Glaziers I want out for who they appoint to look after that money, investment in facilities etc…but they have allowed us to spend huge amount in the transfer market

It obviously has not been more than enough when we are in need for players, but we look at loans.

We have underperformed with our transfers and the blame for some of that is on our managers, but i will never buy into the take that the Glazers have given us what we need to succeed. They take money out of our club, money that could have gone to better players.

We, Manchester United, makes that money. Why should we be ok with not getting it to spend on things that matter for the football part of our club?
If you think money is the reason for the mess we are in you have a very small mind
It’s mismanagement of that money which is the problem

You keep saying i think like a child and have a small mind. Why do you do that? It is not very nice, and brings nothing to the discussion.

I think the glazers are the biggest reason for the mess we are in, and when they leave i am sure it will show.

Easily, theyve put in place the people who have hired the managers weve had, who have bought the players weve got, and allowed all of this to happen.
Its easy to blame a manager, but with a proper structure, we would not be wasting money, indulging certain people, and thus causing issues in terms of moving on.
We have no structure in place, and its been allowed for 10 years. We have no succession plan in place if a certain manager doesnt work out. To go from Fergie > Moyes > LVG > Jose > Ole > ETH.
There is no planning at all in terms of that.

The buck stops with Glazers and I agree with you. Theyve allowed the club to become like this because they dont ultimately care if we challenge or not. Getting CL football is more important as is getting in sponsors and such.

Can anyone clear up why we cant just offer an obligation to buy next season and use next years funds to get him in?
Or an obligation to buy is accounted in the same year of loaning?
By all means what reports suggest is we wanted this move to be permanent even if we don’t have the funds rn.

Right

but have we spent money in the market, more than almost everyone ? Which was my point
You’re asking them for more money, I’m saying that won’t change anything

So it would not change anything that we could buy a midfielder and a forward f.ex now? It would not change anything that instead of going into glazers pockets the money goes to Manchester United? Then we disagree.

And i still wonder why you put in the think like a child and small mind stuff. I dont know if "right" was the response to that?

Just a Casemiro injury or suspension away from a serious problem.

The lack of squad depth and planning is a real worry.

Well you defended the Glazers whilst replying to this conversation

With all the positivity around selling the club, having Arab money with talks of Kane and Rice, honestly I can remember feeling this shit about a transfer window. We arent now talking about being better, we are struggling to maintain where we were last season...

100% this is on the Glazers...fecking scum

And that's before we even mention redeveloping the stadium.

You've since attempted to turn this into a conversation around whether the Glazers have spent enough. This isn't really the point, not to mention that to suggest they have is to ignore the fact that they've certainly spent very little on infrastructure or the training facilities, and we're lagging well behind other clubs in that regard.

The failings of the club, and the fact that we may well struggle to even maintain our position this season, is on the Glazers and their mismanagement of the club from top to bottom. They're responsible for employing everyone who's worked on transfers in recent years. To suggest they bear no responsibility is bizarre.

I remember it was Reguilon or Telles at some point in the past, and folks here wanted him  cruel twist of fate

I would rather have Reguilon if he was cheaper and lets us scrounge up the extra pennies to get the loan + buy obligation deal for Amrabat done. Or for that matter just play Alvarez if it meant getting Amrabat.
