Of course it's on the Glazers. Yes we spent money but we have been poor at renewing sponsors and careless with debt management which have compounded our FFP issues.

Ten hag overpaid for one player, the rest are fine.
It’s not just this season
And off the field is probably the best thing we’ve done under them
It’s on the field that has let us down, and let sponsors down

Because posts like yours don’t make sense we spent more than almost every single club on the planet
Klopp turned Liverpool into a monster with less

I want rid but they have given us funds, having different owners wouldnt if stopped eth buying Antony for 80m
We have not been given any founds, we have been allowed to use some of the money the club already makes, after they have taken their cut.
We should be able to spend much much more, but hey.

Murtough and Arnold had their first summer spends last summer. They operated the best they could in the circumstances. The problem is Glazers, not them. This should be obvious.

it’s all a hangover from the previous regime and strategy to offer huge wages to preserve “the asset” in a book world it’s better to have a player sat on the bench earning a fortune than lose them on a free. This has meant we can’t sell any of said players due to massive wages and therefore can’t generate any funds. Works for the business/Glazers but not for the football.

It’s some, not all.

It’s also signing Antony & Mount for inflated fees. Neither will be worth their outlay.

It should of been spent better

And it’s been more than enough

more money would not solve the problem, child like thinking

It obviously has not been more than enough when we are in need for players, but we look at loans.

We have underperformed with our transfers and the blame for some of that is on our managers, but i will never buy into the take that the Glazers have given us what we need to succeed. They take money out of our club, money that could have gone to better players.

We, Manchester United, makes that money. Why should we be ok with not getting it to spend on things that matter for the football part of our club?

The owners job is to not just provide the money but also hire the right people to manage the club also. Woodword was a comically bad appointment and the fact that he was there for so long.

It was spent well. Only Antony was the overpay, otherwise it was fine. Every director of football makes an error in judgement. Regarding money, the outlay wasn't enough to get us where we want right now. Manchester United are big enough for two successive windows of huge spends but the fact we can't is a Glazer problem.

Only Chelsea have outspent us net (officially) across the last 5 years and even that's only just. We've spent and obviously done so very poorly as we've not gained much ground.

We've spent heavily on wages and again its not helped us and hindered us in sales.

It's absolute bollocks to say we've spent well or haven't spent enough. People can rightly moan we could have had more to spend but for feck sake we really shouldn't need to and it must me preposterous for other fans to see you lot cry about more money.

Even the amount ETH has spent is enough to fill all the gaps. Yet here we are still with gaps.

Spent well, what a joke.

You must have trouble remembering the structural changes in the club or even reading my own posts.

I am referring to how Murtough spent, and last summer was his first window. Given that context why would I give a single feck about what happened in the past 5 seasons?

Murtough spent fine last season and the problem we had isn't blind money. It was putting footballing people in footballing roles. Woodward was a clown and clowns will feck up.

You really believe United have spent well? No doubt the Glazers have prevented us from signing more than we should've, but the money has been used poorly.

As you said, £85m for Antony was well over the top, but you can easily say the same for the £47m spent on Onana. Why didn't United go for him when he was on a free last year? Then you have the £55m used for Mount, who only had a one year left on his contract at a club who no longer wanted him. United could've bought Amrabat and Gravenberch together for less.

That's just going back to last year, never mind if we went back further and looked at the fees and wages paid to the likes of Maguire, Pogba, Lukaku, Sanchez, Sancho etc. Then as a result of the poor recruitment/negotiations, United end up paying over-inflated prices and wages to short term fixes like Casemiro and Varane.

We are a mess.

The problem has never been the amount of money spend.

Our scouting network does feck all half the players bought have the dutch connection.

We are bad at negotiating contracts (insane wages for shite like Sancho) and selling

We almost every time prioritise the wrong positions didn’t need a CAM bought Mount, could have gone a year really without a new GK. Tonali was available, a player like that could have solved a host of problems.

Not all managers are Fergie they should not be allowed total control over transfers simple as. There is currently no one at the club who can say no to ETH for daft deals like Werghorst, Antony because no possess the tactical acumen. If there was someone with the know how of scouting, negotiations, transfers with years of experience, I doubt we’ll be in this position. Get a dof who has done this shite before, building and rebuilding squads, working with constant manager transitions and high profile players.

The Glazers have refused to put in a proper structure because they want full control and subservience. This is why they need to feck off.

The owners have given the club nothing but crippling debt, mismanagement, dithering and 10 years of Ed Woodward.

You realise it's the club's money they are 'giving'? It's not over the top to suggest more astute owners would be have had a much better transfer policy.

And posts like your enable and empower the Glazers to dig their claws deeper into our club. This attitude is why they are satisfied to hold onto the club and continue their 18 years of decline and decay When they should be selling up and fecking off with their billions of stolen cash.

And Klopp is a WC coach with a stable football hierarchy and really good DOF behind him. The amount he spent is irrelevant, it’s all about the planning and vision. Our club has been given Woodward, Judge and any flavour of the month manager for the last 10years with no thought for progression or continuity. The fact we have had to spend so much is frankly an indictment of those in charge, and their chronic mismanagement of the club especially when we have so little to show for it.

Great news - so this sale, plus Mengi...minus the buy of the Turkish gk (which is meant to be £5m?)...does this mean we have enough for Amrabat now?

It would be great if that guy on here who was analysing our FFP could update it

He was an academy player so that's £20M net plus the £100k wages off our books. Mengi will be net too but we don't know how much he is going for. (at least this is how I understand it works).

I had a look at transfermarkt and apparently we have 30 scouts currently, I can't believe all of them are incompetent or workshy. I think it's more likely our scouts deliver reports which aren't considered and they aren't consulted on which players to buy.

This question has already been answered so many times in the Onana thread before he signed. Try and keep up.

Would be somewhat progressive if we have this one lined up for next summer. Looks an incredible talent - be surprised if City don't go in for him.

You? You “makes that money” Bootsy? Well only if you’re a shareholder mate because if you’re just a supporter then you’re a punter not an owner, you’re someone who pays for some very small part of the product, not someone who makes money from it.
It’s ’they’ who makes the money (the Glazers and shareholders with voting rights, many and various), those who part own or have some ownership stake and some say in the business, and they really don’t care whether you’re ok with it or not because you don’t have a voice as far as they’re concerned . . not even a very faint squeak.

And they don’t even care what the non-voting shareholders think either because they might have a financial stake but, just like you, they don’t have a voice.

Btw, that’s a cool moniker mate, absolutely funky.

Yes it would've, because our transfer strategy under serious owners wouldn't be "hand the manager a blank check and inshallah"
The scout team have the power to veto ETH targets and vice versa. There's actually a system and it isn't just what Ten Hag wants Ten Hag gets.

Hopefully we can get this done

Glazers takes money that Manchester United makes (i see us fans as a part of Manchester United) and gives the money to themself.
Manchester United would make a lot of money without the Glazers also, so i am not sure we are talking about the same thing?

I know they dont care about me.

Benfica: "Yeah, unfortunately we don't have a DM available for transfer this summer. Perhaps you'd be interested in João Neves for next summer?

United l: "Who's that?"

Journalists: "UNITED ASKED ABOUT JOÃO NEVES!"

Thing is with transfer windows, people moan when we are involved on transfer deadline day. 'Too slow dealing with transfers'. Then the same people will moan when we aren't involved on transfer day. 'Remember the excitement of Berbatov'. 'Boring last day when we aren't involved'.

Fantastic Prospect. Hope we stay in the running for him
