Seriously how do we plan to sign Mount, Rice and Kane? No ffp?
If I had to choose only one out of the three to sign, it would be Rice because of the critical need in midfield and the age upside. Kane is clearly the best of the three but we are not in a situation where we are just one striker away. Our base (i.e. our back 6) still needs quite a bit of work to get to the level where we can contend regularly for a long time. Plus spending £100m on a 30 year old is extremely risky. Way riskier than spending £100m on a 24 year old who is already a premier player in his position. For £100m, I would like at least 6-7 years of top level service. I am closer to getting that with a 24 year old vs a 30 year old.

We are right to assume this early. If we are to get Kane he really must push for the transfer, there is only so much we can do when it comes to Levy.

Absolutely bang on,a true test of how badly he actually wants the move isn't it

A sensible approach that forces everyone’s hand early on. Would be great to get him but we can’t have a protracted saga when it’s clear we need to bring at least three first team players this summer

Had longer on his contract then though
Levy would be an idiot to just hold onto him. They had his goals this year and have got nowhere. They will have a new manager who will want some money to spend. At the moment it looks at Europa Conference League at the very best. That is if they win at Leeds and Brighton beat/draw at Villa. They will not be getting much income from that route. There will be a lot of teams competing for CL and other European places. Levy is desperate. Think it has got to the stage of Levy trying to save his own neck and not what is good for Spurs.

Would be interesting to see what their FFP 'cap' space is. Do they have any spending flexibility without a Kane sale? This is assuming Levy would actually spend it. Kind of over a barrel when it comes to a new manager coming in, as any new manager that would satisfy the fans will want spending guarantees.

Generally the words reasonable fee and English player don't ever go together. Just look how much we paid for Maguire and AWB

Yeah, but Mount will be in his final contract year so that does change the dynamic.

Isn't it with most teams if they want more to spend, they have to sell.

Spurs are an embarrassment, getting turned down by manager after manager. Kane's either leaving this summer or the following summer. Any competent owner would know to sell him and start preparing for life without him. Levy only thinks of money and can't figure out how it's actually going to impact the club. He has no leverage and his club is just going to continue plummeting down the table if he keeps trying to deny the inevitable for another year.

I think with Kane you have to tell him if he wants the move, he has to basically come out publicly and ask for it, put the transfer request in and everything. The move has to be wrapped up by the end of June or it’s a no go. Don’t get roped into a long game with Levy. The last thing we need is to go into the last week of the window without a striker and Levy uses our desperation to get 120 out of us for Kane. Deal done fair and early so all parties can go about their windows.

Therein lies the problem.

I also don't see how Mason Mount fits the bill. Or Rabiot, to be honest, other than being on a free. Sure, if you are comparing them to McFred, I guess they are.

Agree on Mount but Rabiot on a free to replace McTominay is good business IMO.

Surely he will lose bonuses if he puts in any kind of transfer request but could be wrong

Mount adds goals - you can say what you want about Mason Mount but if you take away this season (which has been pretty weird for all Chelsea-players) he scores a fair number of goals. Before this season he scored an average of 8 goals in the league over the last 3 seasons. And add to that, before this season he had barely missed a game in his career do the injuries. The guy has played close to 200 league matches over the last 6 seasons - now that is consistant.

Would he be my first choice in midfield - no but he would certainly strengthen our squad.

Yes and so would many, many other players that don't cost 55+ million on a 1yr contract. Also, where does he play? Do you sacrifice Bruno to accomodate him or does he play as an 8 when we were looking at 3 other players better in that position?

He’s better than fecking Fulham
There was also a video floating around yesterday that Marco Silva was talking to Fred after the game. They might have promised him that they will challenge for European football with few new signings. They finished 10th which is not bad at all for a promoted team.

I’m a fan of Fred but with his age we should sell
if there’s a decent offer. Marco Silva and Fulham would be a good move for him

Wonder what fee we can bring in. I rate him higher than McTominay but doubt wel get as much.

With only Year on his Contract 15 m would be great business .
I think it would be fair too.
In what world are you guys living in?

£15M for a regular Brazilian international?! This isn’t early 2000’s anymore.

So you’re rating a regular player for United with a fringe/reserve player and expecting a similar fee?

£15M would he stupid business
