€90m not enough? We’re being absolutely ripped off here. Walk away now.

Let him kick up a fuss, stink the place up, then get back for him in January. They’ll bite our hand for 60 million then.

Well it is the truth in the end . There is no chance Ajax refuse this money at the start of the window
That's nonsense to be honest. 90m is an absolutely stupid amount of money to a club like Ajax. If they aren't going to accept it now they would never accept it. Frankly we should move on to other targets.

It’s not nonsense at all. Ajax have always been ok with selling players for the right price but they have already lost major players this summer and so they are well with their rights to hold on to a 22yr old potential star. There’s 6 days left in the window and they have to think of their own season too

If they’re out of the CL and cruising the league then maaaaaybe, but he might also have a great World Cup.

6 days is more than enough to wrap up a deal for a player. That part is BS. Plenty of clubs do deals on deadline day, let alone a week.

They keep rejecting bids because they know how desperate we are and that we'll bid more.

Its time to call their bluff and utter the Caf moto of the window - "Walk away"

under normal circumstances it would make sense. Here, sadly, less money spent just means more money sucked by Glazers. So “walk away” really works if we get someone else for these monies (maybe bid big money for Hakimi or Maignan)

We have to walk away from ridiculous deals like this or for the good of the club

Let everyone know that we aren't fecking mugs that everyone can take advantage of.

Not gonna be popular around here but paying €90M for Anthony will be setting the wrong precedence by us. Do t matter what the muppet say, they also wanted us to sign Sancho for €120M and would have moaned themselves to death if we had bulked at £80M for Maguire.

Doesn't matter how desperate we are, overpaying for this will just mean that in a couple of years time when we want a decent midfielder from the dutch league, their club will reference our stupid fee for Anthony to justify another obscene fee. Move on is the verdict.

The precedent this window has already been set by the Tchoumaeni and Darwin Nunez transfers though.

And most recently, the Wesley Fofana transfer; unfortunately for the big clubs, big money is now the bare minimum for the hottest young talents that are already playing first-team football at a high level.

Yup so true.
Abd even if you go back a couple of years, Barcelona ended up paying something close to €90 million (including add-ons) for De Jong.

For 90million you could get most of the world's top players. Which I don't think this guy is, despite the manager wanting him. if the board had been willing the spend this money before the season started we could have assembled a really good team by now (Richalison and Raphina both cost 60mil). This is the price when you wait so long and the selling club don't need to sell. They can literally name their price, and in this case it's far far too high.

If you just reference the overall fee, without any other context, that's your loss. If Gordon is rumoured to be around 50 to 60 million pounds, then Antony is definitely worth a Dan James + Gordon. Attackers should be going for high prices. And United desperately need a left footed forward, who happens to also play off the right? And has been working with EtH for a good while?

The way Antony has painted the picture from his end, it's pretty clear Ajax are playing hard ball with him and don't want to grant his wish and have rejected massive bids by United.

United could just abandon it for this transfer window and not address it until another window, whether in the winter or next summer. I don't think it's all about money for Ajax, but they are putting themselves in a corner by holding onto a want away and they are not guaranteed the same transfer fee now, as they are in the future.
