What, you mean let's just throw 100m at someone and see how it goes? Usually a bit more is expected. Sometimes (as it was with Pogba) it's pretty clear to everyone why the player commands a sum like that, with Antony that is not the case, at least not to me. And anyway, there has actually been some good replies.

It's just this habit of repeatedly asking is he good enough for the money. Nobody really knows. How could they? You'll just have to wait and see.

I've asked it twice. Which is the same number of times you have now posted to bitch about it. Don't you have anything better to do?

I rather assumed that people would have the good sense to understand that I'm not asking anyone to develop a functioning crystal ball and tell me how he will do. Just on what grounds we should assume that he's got qualities that would justify a transfer sum of that magnitude.

Well there are 260 pages of discussion dedicated to just Antony . If your answer isn't there already I don't see the use of coming into transfer tweet thread and repeatedly asking/moaning about his value.

Wait to see if the transfer fee goes through. Wait to find out what the fee actually is. That's what I'd do anyway. Then complain.

We'll our top three most expensive signings have been complete flops, yet they looked/seemed good at the time to warrant the fee. Hopefully antony will be more of a success than Pogba, Lukaku and Maguire. But there really is only one way of finding out.

Well, thank you so much for repeatedly providing unsolicited and pointless advice on how to deal with a different question than the one I asked.

And, I am not complaining. On the contrary, I'm very much hoping to read good reasons why we should be excited about this transfer, even at this cost. And I've gotten a few.

Another attacker us crucial. Adding Casemiro and Eriksen to McTominay, Fred, VDB, Bruno and Garner (if he stays) is enough for now I think. We're still yet to see what is going on with Iqbal too, who hasn't featured at first team or u23 since pre season.

We've got Ronaldo that wants out, Rashford, Martial, Sancho, Elanga and Garnacho for 3 positions. One wants out and two are not really ready yet. It's a far more pressing concern now. I'll be worried if we don't get Antony or another very good attacker in there before the window closes.
 
If the opportunity comes to sign FDJ before the window closes. The owners should stump up the cash by any means necessary. But we should get Antony signed ASAP. He’s gone on strike for us pretty much.
