What is ETH position if all the verbal promises made about signings and control are not the reality?

Far too early to think this.

However I for one would love it to happen as it would 99.99999% signal the end for the Glazers. They wouldn't come back from ETH walking away of his own choice.

I'd choose Glazers gone over 4th place any day of the week.

But as I have been saying on repeat for days....new signings are coming. We just need to be a bit more patient.

I hope a top 4 finish is not a requirement in ETH contract, otherwise he may be following all managers before him and not seeing out his contract. We won’t finish any higher than 6th again in my opinion. De Jong alone in that midfield will make a small difference when the same shit your pants defence is behind him along with the lack of defensive midfield cover, which has hindered us for years.

I’m trying to keep my frustration down during this window though as it will be needed more for when the season starts instead.

I’m willing for patience to get this club back to the top but that’s when you believe the owners/club are doing everything it can to get there. This club isn’t doing that and the sponsors will slowly but surely begin to dry up with the continued lack of success and CL participation. The Glazers are milking this club dry as the debt rises, whilst the stadium and facilities fall apart. Ronaldo will be gone in 12 months also so his marketability will leave along with him. Pogba was massive commercially yet he has left again for nothing. This struggle will go on for years to come unfortunately as a squad full of average overpaid players we can’t shift will hamper every window to come especially when the clubs revenue continues to fall each year and our transfer budgets become more strict. There is no quick win unless we get bought out by an owner who has bottomless pockets.

Let’s hope we can get De Jong done then as ETH is clearly wanting him and preferably a defensive midfielder also although it looks like a right sided forward is more likely. I feel two signings at most with a possible free transfer and the coffers will be empty.

Most of us would choose United getting relegated if it meant the Glaziers left !

It's crazy thinking again by the club. If they had given RR 30m in Jan we would have a better CM, most likely got 4th and so would have financially better off (more than the cost of the CDM). We'd also have CL which would have made summer deals a lot easier.

The ineptitude of the United management structure defies belief. I reckon RR was toast the moment he said they needed up to 10 signings.

We'll get two signing, overpay for both and complain about value in the market and all the other crap we roll out.

United is really starting to lose it's valuation but as long as Glazers can pull dividends out i don't think they care.

It's absolutely mind boggling, isn't it? They didn't back Rangnick with the excuse they were saving all funds for the new manager in the summer. We didn't even try for Bruno Guimaraes and Luis Diaz or anyone. Many players on exorbitant wages are also gone now, so that's even more funds freed up. And it looks like we still have a smaller budget than fecking Spurs and Arsenal! Absolutely diabolical, this. Ibrahimovic was absolutely right - small club mentality.

If they will happily leave, would they happily accept a pay cut? Since that seems to be the only stumbling block to some. I know that Martial accepted a pay cut for his Sevilla loan.

I reckon the price we ask for them is just as big a stumbling block. I think there should be some leeway given by both parties. Unfortunately I don’t think there will be much from either so they are likely to stay or be loaned and all eventually leave on a free.

A big part of why we're in the mess we're in. Nobody is going to pay actual money for any one of them apart from Henderson maybe. Woody and Judge fecked us good and proper.
And he's the one we're agreeing to send out on loan, and actually paying part of his wages. FFS.

Hmmm starting to get slightly worried about next season!

ETH isnt stupid and they mustve agreed a budget for this season and next, obviously with provisions for outgoings etc. If he thinks he can fix the mess without a major outlay (open heart surgery), then lets hope for the best. But would anyone be surprised if only a few weeks in, and the goalposts when it comes to budgets have been moved by the glazers. ETH walking before the season even starts would be a glorious and somewhat pathetic indictment of the owners, and one that I cant feel has been coming, and predicted by the comments from LVG and Mourinho and the end of Ralf's time here.

We’ll sign FdJ within the next few weeks and he’ll be ready for pre-season. And once Frenkie is secured we’ll move more swiftly for our other targets. No need to get worried.

Yeah we need to get more realistic with valuations of our own players, hello Utd we have to raise funds for signings.

What's left for other targets, also like I said where is the money from sales coming from

I know times have been tough for a while for those who grew up following the SAF success era, but seriously calm down and let the people do their job who are supposed to do it. Go touch grass or do whatever makes you happy.

Sure everyone can, but some start the blame game even after one gossip Tweet and they are just doing bad for their own mental health if they care that much.

I would not want United relegated to get the Glazers out - sorry, but no
oddly though wed be on the front and back pages the world over and more importantly social media would go into overdrive if we had a season that bad. all that extra exposure would more than make up for the loss of CL and prizemoney etc. Glazers probs be happy as the money would keep rolling in. Netflix doc for our season getting back in and the all they hype of our return to the prem...even more ££££.

How does that work?

the relegation in 74 and the return in 75 played a big part in UTDs global brand, now imagine that with social media and 24hr news.

Imagine other clubs dominating Europe at the same time

This last tweet makes no sense as Bissouma and De Jong are different types of midfielder - it’s not a case of either/or, they are complementary

That's twice now sources within the club have basically said "didn't want him anyway" - it's either journalists making crap up, or our PR is in overdrive.

Speak for yourself! Get relegated you ain’t ever getting back to the top 6 for decades.

Why? Because we haven’t signed anyone barely a week into the window?

City got bought by new owners, went down two leagues and then came back up and won the PL in a decade with the new owners so going down to get rid of the Glaziers is not so bad and who cares who we sign if the toxic boardroom continues to manage the club like complete cash greedy Hubris morons!

Or more likely ETH is pushing for De Jong and wants to see how much that is going to be before pursuing other targets.

What if we signed Nunez &Bissouma and have no money left for ETH priority number 1 signing. What a way to introduce yourself to the new manager!

A smart club agrees a deal with Bissouma but doesnt trigger it
