It's nice of the club to destroy the tiny bit of dignity we had left with this European tour of rejections. Death, taxes and United getting rejected.

Does Cas know its Manchester United that are interested in him? Maybe he thinks its City?

Initially I hated this but I tell you what, i'm loving this transfer merry go round with United. Can't wait to see which player we'll be linked to next...

It is getting more exciting by the day tbh. The complete opposite of the Frenkie De Jong thread.

Selling is a little different - and City are in a different tier to Arsenal and Chelsea. Neither are threats for the league title. City will certainly get CL football.

We should be directly competing with Chelsea for CL football. If they loan players to us, they probably don't see us as competition.
We'd loan out Bailly to Chelsea or Arsenal right now if they wanted to take him and would pay full wages.

It's literally that only big clubs can really afford the wages these players are on without the selling club subsidising or the player lowering their salary for the loan period or the transfer.

Makes me think the Casemiro/Caicedo links are true and we're just spunking money at this point hoping it sticks!

(Which if anyone complains about, we were complaining that we weren't doing what Chelsea were doing and showing ambition, and buying players to help the team)

You'd think Fabrizio/Ornstein would be on this if it's true....let's wait and see if they report on it

Sounds like nonsense. Why in the feck would we haggle for ages over certain players the past few windows and then, as talented as he is, just straight up offer 130m out of the blue for this lad?

If we have 130 million to spend and instead of two solid midfielders and right back we get Joao fecking Felix, we really didn’t learn anything and we deserve all the bad things that are yet to come.

I swear they were willing to sell him not that long ago

It's going to get silly, but who's to say we aren't looking at

Casemiro/Caicedo/Felix

There's been lots of talk from high tiered journo's today talking about us being interested in those three players and readying bids.

If this is true feck this club.
For this kind of cash we could have overhauled are squad but now it'll be spent on panic buying and getting fleeced due to desperation.
Fecking dumbasses. I could run the club better.

I very much doubt this is true though :lol:

Zero chance United have offered 130 mill, zero chance

I really want to know how our transfer strategy meetings are run…

Probably told by his agents he wont come and thought lets bid 130m anyway knowing full well it fails.

Can only hope the leeches turn up for the Liverpool game and get embarrassed live on tv

It’s a shame we won’t see a Gareth Bale rumour.

I doubt all the rumours have been false or agent bs. Most of them have been from reputed Tier 1 journalists.
The amount of rejections have been staggering.

No one has rejected United so far

1000% false. No way we have that money to spend.

We haggled with Barca for weeks to set a price for FDJ and assumed he would join so then have spent the rest of the summer looking at cut price options like Arnautivic and Rabiot because we dont have that much left to spend (plus we spent more than we probably anticipated on Martinez). Then all of a sudden we are willing to find 130 million for Felix on top of the 50-80 million for Casemiro??

This was before the loss to Brentford.

Giggs in tears in court today. I've no wish to be insensitive but is it possible, do you think, that he was simply monitoring our transfer situation?

Yeah, if we actually submitted an offer (even informal), they'd have jumped on it. The fact that AS is the only one reporting this makes it likely that this is very speculative.

José Félix Diaz is very reliable, though, and him reporting about our interest in Casemiro and Félix tells me that we're indeed exploring the João Félix option, at least.

EDIT: Marca is also reporting this, but it's not coming from JFD.

and what’s wrong with that? Both great players, it’s only logical we are ready to pay solid money for them. Obviously both would improve us big time

Tier 1:

Casemiro has no intention of leaving Real Madrid

Real Madrid are not contemplating the Brazilian's departure

The Real Madrid boss has denied having received an offer from Manchester United for the player.

However, there's more to come on this.

Haha have we feck offered that kind of money.

Thanks to @Rolaholic for sharing some of the Pedrerol Tweets in the Casemiro thread, and thanks to @RkkMan for sharing this (Tier 1):

EDIT: Looks like the aggregator got this from the Deportes COPE radio show and are marking it as their exclusive on the basis that other Real Madrid aggregators aren't sharing this info.

Laughing stock of world football.
1 bad news report and it all comes crumbling down. We love bad news here at the CAF.

Against the actual signing but when one bad news of it happening we’re also a laughing stock.

Aren’t we supposed to love the club?

This Tweet paints a different picture (as I mentioned in the post that you replied to.

This afternoon on Deportes COPE we explained that Real Madrid do not want to sell Casemiro, but the ball is in the player's court.
United's offer to Casemiro is dizzying.

Thanks to @GatoLoco in the Casemiro thread.

Casemiro right now:

However, there's more to come on this.

This sounds ever more like the Sergio Ramos situation from a few years back when we were used as a stalking horse in his contract negotiations.
We indulged Gabriel Batistuta in the same way, on 2 occasions, when he needed a bit of leverage where his contract extensions were concerned.

He's a great player. If he comes and others get upset at his extraordinary wages then I hope the response from ETH is "fck off and come back with 5 champions league medals and we'll pay you that, you Europa League trash".

Is that why he benches Varane for Maguire?
