Some on here won't ever miss an opportunity to get angry at the club, no chance will be wasted. If people can get annoyed they will. I'm not some ridiculous club defender, far from it, but the energy some put into being negative about everything is exhausting.
i know rite? aint easy to move some of these lot on.
damned if they do, damned if they dont.

Can’t we sell anyone anymore? Why is it always loans? The outgoings are bugging me more than the incomings

Madness isn't it. I guess it can only be due to the stupid contracts we've been putting average players on. That absolutely has to stop - I despair if the club can't see that by now.

How much did we sign him for only a year ago?

Two years but I can see why it would be easy to forget since he’s achieved next to nothing here.

It was something like £15m which is probably another reason why no one wants to pay for him. His stock is way down.

The majority of the clubs outside of the top tier still don't have that much money to spend in general, so they're either trying to sell their own players to fund the incoming transfers, or they're hoping that the bigger clubs compensate them. It's why players like Batshuayi, Lo Celso, Reguilón, etc. are struggling to move on. Most of the teams' owners aren't willing to spend non-stop like Nottingham Forests's or Fulham's owners.

Fair point but my gut feeling is that wages being much higher in the PL than other leagues on average

That also plays a part, and the recent events outside of England hasn't really helped, overall, including the pandemic, France's failed TV deal, and the Italian clubs' lack of financial progress.

I don't know much about his reliability, but he's a local Slovenian reporter who may have connections to Sesko's camp.

Update, Benjamin Šeško:
-Man Utd, Chelsea and PSG have certainly sent offers.
-He will decide next week after careful consideration with his family and agent.
-The options are: stay, leave in the summer, leave in a year.
-Salzburg are still adamant: not for sale this summer!

De Jong added to that is our budget. The worrying thing for me is Telles and Henderson should be two of our most sellable so the fact we’ve only loaned both out makes me wonder who the feck they think they can sell.
Precisely this. I thought we'd moved from the incompetence era?

Yeah but scarily RA was his contracts guy! I wonder did Ed say how much or did RA do it himself? He has after all admitted that he knows feck all about footy and is delegating to those who do since starting his new role

Did not know that. And now my evening's ruined.

Not just Woody's fault though tbf. Our shite scouting department and our previous managers have to take their fair share of the blame (though both are ultimately the responsibilities of the CEO, so in the end he is entirely to blame.)

I don't know where GB's getting that info from. Matt Judge was known to be the chief negotiator both for transfers and contracts, whilst Richard Arnold was mainly responsible for the commercial side of things.

Not sure PSG are really interested. Didn't they just buy an upcoming 17 y/o French striker talent?

They bought a 20-year-old Hugo Ekitike if that's what you're thinking about. Sesko's more of an opportunity rather than someone that they're seriously working on.

Yes. Got his age wrong. Don't see how it makes sense to buy another similar age profile talent, that too at a price of 30-50m€.

It's the usual hoarding of talents just to make sure that they don't miss out and in case the other young players don't do well. It's the same approach that both Chelsea and City take.

It gets even better  It's like Woodward never left.

Its been a terrible window and I blame Murtough for that however some of the damage done during the last 3-5 years will not be easily undone in one summer. Our deadwood are on contracts which other clubs can't take on and have more than one year left. If we can't sell them then at the least if we can get their wages of the books it will help us out.

Personally waiting to see exactly who we hire for our recruitment team over the next few months to help identify targets instead of turning ourselves into an Ajax tribute act.

Also worth noting that we had agreed a 60 million pound bid for a player. I believe United will still spend this summer regardless whether or not FDJ comes.

Eugh. Correct! I dunno what the hell i was thinking because I know it was Matt judge. Half asleep

What the hell is happening with Jill Phones?? He never featured on the preseason and I don't think he's injured (is he?). There's been no talk about him and I think he showed up in the very first ten Hag training video on MUTV, but then disappeared after that.

I know it's a process, but personally I would rather us sell off deadwood and contribute to the wages then postpone the problem for another year. Yes, it wouldn't make huge profits for us, but at least they're off the books and we can then look forward to a new era.
