Feel uneasy about treating De Gea this way he's been outstanding for us this season on and off the pitch, one of the very few players that deserves to be at the club in my opinion.
Signing is all about keeping an eye for the future. Not every GK would continue to stay at high level till 40, and DDG will turn 32 in November.
For the quoted price, this looks like a great planning for whoever at the club to push forward this deal. Getting GK prospect before their value inflate. He's very young for GK, so there may be enough room for kicking, distribution improvement
I'm actually impressed by how his favourites like 'X has been discussed internally', 'Y is on the list' string people along to make them think he knows.
Maybe United can now satisfy last summers Soumare muppets and sign him, as he was going to be the next big thing (much like a player who’s just signed for Villa)
Heaton is 36 and has barely played for about 5 years mate - I think the clear issue here is that he isn't seen as good enough to be a back-up goalkeeper for a top 6 team and therefore United don't have one...
Even so, I’ve named 4 young gk at the club. Whether they are 3rd or 3rd choice is academic - if they are not good enough then why are they here? Seems to be spending without any good reason, that’s all.
