It sucks but he's 100% not signing for united. Loser gets Kane.If he signs for City...

I wanted stability. Anderlecht was an attractive option. I was important, the coach is fantastic and the club is up there. I spoke with Vincent (Kompany) and Peter (Verbeke), but it was quickly clear that it would not be easy to buy me, which is what Anderlecht wanted. Chelsea asked [for] too much money, Anderlecht looked for and found alternatives – I can’t blame the club management. That’s just how the football world works.

I think every transfer period you need to evaluate again. You cannot say what we wanted in the summer, we do in the winter. And what we want to do in winter, we want to do the next summer. It is not like this. Your opinion changes, players change, you have evolvement in the group, you have an atmosphere that you build, you see who is absolutely reliable and these connections build up and create something special hopefully in the group.
So you cannot say what we tried in the summer did not happen so we will try again for sure in the winter. Sometimes it is like this. If we see the same need, but clearly, Trevoh is now here with us and he deserves to be here with us. It had nothing to do with if we can sign another central defender or not. But he stepped up. The responsibility was even more on his shoulders and he can handle it so far in a very impressive way. This is the situation and it has an effect on our next decisions in the next transfer period. It is always like this.

Were there a case when a coach/manager from Ajax went directly to a big club and succeeded?Well, one less competitor for Ten Hag.
Can't say. But I rather watch him, especially what he has done and is doing in Europe, and try and make my mind. Were there a case when a coach/manager from Ajax went directly to a big club and succeeded?

Yeah, which makes this somewhat atypical, but I'm guessing they already have a replacement lined up if they fired him after a win. They just won their first game this season, didn't they?
Lineker on MOTD last night “and Daniel Farkes off”Yeah, which makes this somewhat atypical, but I'm guessing they already have a replacement lined up if they fired him after a win.

The headline writes itself. I'm surprised it had to via MOTD, though.Lineker on MOTD last night “and Daniel Farkes off”
That makes sense, too, actually. I wonder if Farke and the players knew about this. It might have given them extra motivation against Brentford.I've heard they decided to sack him earlier this week but didn't want to disrupt the match preparations.
Of course, you first have to get into a decision-making process. We are not that far yet. It’s all open. Anyone who is familiar with the business knows that there will be talks soon. Then you have to see what happens. That is up to the player to decide. When we enter into such discussions, we are always charged with the wishes and demands of the players. It is not that the player is underage or that the player has no say. Niklas will tell us what he wants and if talks fail, you will have to talk to other clubs at some point.
