They have to keep up appearances. If they get him, great look how relevant and powerful Real still are. If not, they can say look we wanted to spend.
We will get solidarity payments as mandated and structured by standard FIFA laws, but I don't know if we'll get anything on top of that.
They are a week old but I guess we'll soon find out, if true PSG will definitely try to legally challenge Madrid for compensation. I just don't see PSG rejecting 200 mill on a player that you know will leave for free just for an ego boost or a bit of pride and don't see Madrid having enough to even offer that amount. Madrid bluffing makes a lot more sense.

That is what I'd expect from Dortmund, and I'd also expect Chelsea to be a bit more flexible in this regard if Hudson-Odoi does want to leave on loan.

Why would Chelsea replace Hudson-odoi with Saul? That's like us loaning out diallo and replacing him with....well Saul?
Saúl has played as a wing back a few times for Atletico Madrid, so that's what he might be basing that on.
Not the striker we need, but one for the future and most likely to be loaned straight back out.
