Release clauses don't impact the balance sheets in any way, shape or form

Also barcelona are a non-profit organization
Do the players get any say in what the buyout clause is set at? For example Eric Garcia is joining Barcelona on a free and his buyout clause is set at €400 million. If I am a 20 year old player joining Barcelona for no cost i think I'd be asking for a more realistic buyout clause in order to keep my options open.

Haaland continues to be vague about his future when asked. A sign of Chelsea’s intent comes with the knowledge that they have made efforts to improve relations with Mino Raiola, the Norwegian’s agent, since accepting that role in 2019.

But it is believed Borussia Dortmund have ruled out a sale this year after qualifying for next season’s Champions League. They are, however, prepared to sell Jadon Sancho, who has been linked with Chelsea, but the London-born England winger is favouring a move to Manchester United.

In fecking credible.

United linked with Rice

The CAF: Nah never gonna happen! Pointless arguing it he’s never coming here!

Chelsea linked with Rice, Lukaku,

The CAF: Doom and gloom. OH MY GOD They’re gonna be soooo good. I’m so scared!. They’re gonna walk the league!:nervous::(:(:(:(

I was referring to the Haaland/Kane part and that he wants players that will improve the first 11.

I never mentioned Rice and I'm hoping they get Lukaku.

The players we’ve been linked with would improve our first 11 too though, why is it so apparent that Chelsea would get their targets & we won’t?

It isn't apparent at all but I didn't mention United.

I've not posted anything about the rumours regarding Rice coming to United so I'm not sure who your argument is with, but it's not me.

Of course they have a say in it. The contract is signed by both sides. But barcelona is one of few teams that can be described as a final destination. The players dont think about leaving again when signing for barca.
That goes especially for Eric Garcia. The lad accepted a much lower salary and one year city bench just to return to his home club and his La-Masia friends. He doesnt care about any release clauses.

Yes, obviously they do. It's part of the contract. It's literally the compensation for unilaterally breaking the contract

I'd take Tchouameni over Rice anyway. Dude is like Kante with height, skill and actual defence splitting passing range.
Maybe more like beta Pogba and beta Kante fused together.

I'm a bit baffled why Chelsea would want Adama. I suppose as a last throw of the dice bench option?
A more attacking option at RWB? Tuchel played CHO there quite a bit when he first joined. Play Adama vs shit teams and James against better team? Similar approach to what he seems to have with Alonso and Chilwell?

Looks like it's an indication that Tuchel plans to stick with the wing - back system. If that's the case then Adama obviously makes sense as cover/competition for James as Azpi is getting on with age and he's never really cut it in the attacking department that comes with the role. Only other cover we have for the role is 18yr old Livramento who is super talented but still too young.

But Adama plays ahead of Samedo in Wolves 3-4-3 formation, or am i wrong? Adama isn't a WB

That guy reminds me so much of AWB in hs tackling.

Don't think he's quite ready for the step up just yet. We need ready made players for the first team in the middle, Rice fits that bill for me.

City interested in Roberto is he doesn't sign a new deal, currently has 12 month left of his contract.

The fact that we’re being linked with both Adama and Hakimi at the same time makes it pretty obvious that Tuchel wants a lightning quick right wing back who can bomb up and down the flank. Perhaps Reece James will transition full time or at least most of the time into a CB?

Can’t really see us targeting Adama strictly as an attacker when we’re already we’ll stocked there.

He must see James as daves long term succesor in the rcb position. Would be amazing to one day have livarmento and reece alongside each other.

Does Adama track back well, never really noticed his defensive work, just his funny attacking attempts.
It's tough to tell, often Wolves keep him higher as a counter attack option. So it might look like he's not going back as much but it's often by design. Similar to what we do with Rashford.

Speaking to my step son yesterday who's a ST holder at WHU and is pretty well versed in all things Hammers related; Rice is going to cost silly money. Whether it's Chelsea or others, they will still need to balance books. And I doubt if they will get both Rice and Haaland...not this season

I rate Rice highly but with the asking price I hope we go for Tchouaméni. That kid has beast written all over him. Leaves money to go after Haaland.

Do it Chelsea!
How is he? I’ve only watched Bayern a few times this past season and he seemed pretty good to me. Very comfortable carrying the ball for a CB.

Some of the price's being quoted are ridiculous in the current climate. I think it shows that early transfers will not be concluded.
If you think United will spend £150M nett, forget it. Why would you put it out there that you have that kind of budget. You are asking to get ripped off.

Messi to sign 2 year extension, who saw that coming...

Looks like Messi didn't have the balls to try another league unlike his No 1 rival Cristiano Ronaldo, no cold wet night in Stoke in the LC 5th round in November for him then.
