What the hell has happened that they are trying to get rid of Silva?

A couple of years ago he was one of the best players in the league.

There should be restrictions in place for how many over 23 players clubs can have on their books.

Chelseas bloated squad and loan system is absurd. There is no way they should be allowed to have that many players and still be bringing in more.

Actually, that’s a good way of limiting spend. American sports have contract limits (e.g. NHL has 50 contracts as the max) which can limit hoarding of talent at the richest teams. I know Chelsea have done nothing wrong according to the rules but there is something sad about seeing players loaned out for 3-4-5 years.

Why is Chelsea so good at selling their players and we just suck at it? Whats the trick?
They actually aren't, the struggle to sell most of their fringe players - but it has stood out that many of the fringe players that are being sold are international players for their countries and well known on the market. While our's mostly have the nationality which they don't make their nations first 25 man squad.

Jesus christ 30m ? We would honestly get 15m at best if this was us selling him, at best!

We can't even sell them Lingard who was one of their star players last season for 30m, i think we'd struggle to get 20m for Lingard , what is going on with us and selling players, is this a PR issue where famously were known to be terrible at selling players so clubs just continuously low ball us ? madness

Eh?

Literally 90% of our fringe players are regulars for their national team.

From Alex Pintanel

[Meeting between] Mateu Alemany and Josep Maria Orobitg (Busquets and Sergi Roberto's agent)

The downward [salary] renewal of Sergi Roberto, the salary adjustment of Busquets

"Everything has gone well" said Orobitg upon his departure

FCB - OROBITG MEETING. Proposals:

Sergi Roberto
Renewal of 2 seasons with a very important pay reduction

Sergio Busquets
Give up the bonus from the pay + defer part of the salary. Contract until 2023

Negotiation continues, it will not be imminent.

Ours are on too high wages and we ask too much. Lingard for 25m when we got Varane for 34 is ridiculous. We're making no allowance for the fact he's on the final year of his contract.15-20 would be much more realistic. Pereira for 15m? How we deal with our sales is almost as frustrating as our buys.

Ive seen conflicting reports about Saul, some saying its us who are getting him and others that its Chelsea.

I think we are both in talks with his people, but it is going to be the structure of the deal that determines it. I read something that if true would mean we are only looking to see if there is a good deal with the terms of the loan.

Sources have told ESPN that Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel isn't pushing hard for the move as he is happy with his squad. However, sources added that he is aware the situation could change next season and this is why the club are keen on a loan deal this summer.

The issue is Ole seems to be unrealistic about the squad management. Easy to say ‘I want more midfielders, give me money’, while refusing to sanction the sale of the few saleable assets he has that he rarely plays. When you won’t take the money for James, you want to keep VDB and only loan others that you don’t play, where will the funds come from?

if we buy another box to box player it will be kinda underwhelming

we need a fookin Matic replacement!

Bloody hell what thread do I camp in? Camavinga probably isn’t quite ready yet and Saul has apparently dropped off a cliff. Couldn’t even tell you where Neves best plays but he does have a wicked shot on him and I do love cannon shots. That’s that then, the Neves thread it is!

Do we know that Ole isn’t sanctioning sales? Genuine question
