De Jong is apparently on 400k a week at Barca. I doubt United aren't going to pay that or anywhere near that. Good player but i don't think he's worth that amount of wages

It's baffling that Dan James isn't on that list.
United play 3 forwards and an attacking midfielder. Rashford, Martial, Cavanni, Greenwood, Sancho, Mata, Fernandes, Amad. 8 players for those 4 positions. In addition teenagers: Elanga, Hannibal, Shoretire (3) can play minutes in some cup games or take a reserve spot. Pogba and Donny (2) can also play AM. 13 players for 4 positions. But United only have 1 player at CDM: Matic. So it's obvious every non-essential player should be put up or sale until funds are raised to buy the Matic replacement so badly needed. Jones, Lingard, James, Pereira are all non-essential.

He had a couple of good performances at the end of last season tbf to the Kid . He is trying hard to improve and is a squad player at best , With Rashford out we may need him More than most people think . I get the feeling Dan James stepped directly into Fellaini's scapegoat boots. Even when he plays well some are desperate to get Rid of him , Personally I think he deserves a place in the squad above Jones, Perreira , Williams , Dalot, Mata , Lingard, Tuanzebe or Telles ( and I know some were out on loan , but they were for a reason ) who offered little or nothing to the first team last season . Weird that for someone who should be on a list of deadwood he is in so many teams to play v Leeds .
Agree with this. For what he cost us and what we would likely get for him if sold, he's certainly worth keeping hold of for now as a squad option. Offers something different to our other forwards in terms of his raw pace and can also rotate with the likes of Rashford, Sancho, Greenwood and Martial in certain games. He's still young and it's quite possible that he could yet improve.

Jones, Lingard, Pereira and Bailly can go for me.

Lukaku flying into London tonight should be a Chelsea player by Saturday..

As has been pointed out today the problem is that no one wants to buy these players.

Hope this is not the same "paperwork" that held up Sancho for a week!

Incredible how they can suck the most amount of joy possible out of such major signings with all those delays.

Must be some really poor administrative staff at our club or something..

Don't forget Amad, Mata and Pogba at lw. The truth is there are way too many players in those positions. James is one of those who would be easier to move on because of his relatively low wages.

Tbf he was only signed for £12m and is on £60,000 a week, wouldn’t be bad transfer..
In terms of letting Shaqiri go, sure, it's not bad, but if United did something similar, they'd be criticised for it with no excuses.

He's gash and has 45 appearances in 3 seasons. Sure they get 5m back, but as @mazhar13 says, if we get 5m for Pereira for example, people would slate us.

I’d take 6m for Pereira no problem but the club are look 20, we don’t know how to sell unfortunately.

So all that's left is the announcement. Everything else seems to have been done. Looks like there's nothing to really worry about, here.

Funny you say that I think 6m is good value on Pereira at least Shaqiri is somewhat competent when he plays..

Maybe you would, but most United fans would use it as another stick to beat United with. Sometimes, I wonder why other clubs can sell players at a loss (big one in Shaqiri's situation) or lose key players but get away with it completely.

So he's going to be 12, 16, 24, 28 or 30.

Seems bizarre. I'd be shocked if Phil Jones was going to kick up a fuss about losing his number.

I don't think either are a good enough for the club's that they're at, but I don't either one is better than the other.

So OL looking at both Shaqiri & Bakayoko. Wonder if they might be expecting another sale or is this all funded by Depay money

American so forgive my ignorance, but is Ligue 1 more lax with restrictions right now than England? How is Varane so delayed when Messi was wrapped and delivered in such a short amount of time in contrast?

Brexit or something presumably?

The U.K. has rated countries with green, amber, or red to determine different quarantine rules. Spain, for example, are rated as amber, which means that one would have to quarantine if they aren't double-vaccinated with one of the appropriate vaccines (including but not limited to AZ and the mRNA ones). Varane may have had one dose instead of two, which is why he may have had to quarantine.

Official: Takefusa Kubo returns to Mallorca from Real Madrid, this time on a 1-year loan.

Except their haggling over 2m, according to that article, so they're doing the same as we are?

I mean, if we’re actually getting anyone coming in for our players then yeah?

Doesn’t feel that way though.

Southampton finally decided to agree on that offer. It looks like they didn't want to lose out on the money, especially since Vestergaard has 1 year left on his contract.

EDIT: More info
