This popped up out of nowhere yesterday. I wonder if there is something in this.

  • United are demanding 25 million Euros.
  • Fenerbahce want United to reduce the price.
  • Another unnamed Premier League club is interested in Pereira.
  • Pereira prefers to leave permanently rather than be loaned out again.

It would be great but I can't see us getting that much for him, €15M would be the absolute maximum imo.

Edu Aguirre on James and Rafa:
On the first day of Everton’s pre-season, Rafa Benitez, Everton’s new coach, has a meeting with James Rodriguez. In the meeting, he tells him the following ‘James, I am not counting on you, with me, you are not going to play’. So, James is looking for a way out of Everton.

He would love to be at Everton and likes the English league, but if he is not going to play, he needs to look for a way out because he is 30-years-old, still feels young and wants to play. It is true that James is a bit sad and a bit disappointed with both the club and Benitez. There is a deep sadness there. He feels he is not being treated well and has given everything for Everton, but messages are now being leaked to make him throw in the towel.

He has one year left on his contract, which finishes in 2022, and earns around €6m a year, and the feeling is that people are getting on his back and leaking fake news so that James leaves Everton. From now on, we will see what will happen because it’s true James has a high salary, but there are formulas for that.

€25m for Pereira would be extremely ambitious. From what I remember that was the price of the buy option in his Lazio loan deal, so it might not be that we're actually demanding that now.

They’re about to break the PL record twice in a month - can’t wait to see the Kane figure if Jack is 100m
I have a suspicion that Kane may end up disappointed. If the first figure for Grealish is correct I can’t see them buying both. Even for city that’s a bit much to hide

  • Dest turned down approaches from Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, and Monaco.
    • They all tried to exploit Barcelona's financial situation, but the player himself wants to stay.
  • Barcelona continue to talk with Ilaix Moriba's representatives about a new contract.
  • Barcelona fear that Ilaix's agents want the player to run his contract down and sign as a free agent elsewhere.
  • Barcelona want to offer a 3-year contract extension.

Start high, compromise middle ground. Start low, get even lower.
Yeah, not complaining if we get a sale out of it. I just hope he isn't still here at the end of the window.

  • Lovato's most likely Mattia Caldara's replacement, whilst Luiz Felipe is most likely to replace Romero.
  • Atalanta are also considering Demiral and Botman (Lille want to keep him).
  • The deal could be completed for ~20 million Euros + bonuses.

I'm sure after his goal mid week, there might be one or two mid table teams who think he's worth taking a chance on if the price is right. 25 mil seems high though, especially in this market. I would think €15 mil would represent a fair investment. Leeds Villa or Southampton seem like the kind of teams who might take a look.

  • Ancelotti wants a backup striker who can score goals reliably but not cost too much.
  • Ancelotti's happy to see both Mariano and Jovic leave the club.
  • Richarlison is the ideal target.
  • Everton don't want to sell and have slapped a 90 million Euro price tag on the player.

I wouldn't spend 40 mil on Richarlison.

Alaba's contract details were apparently leaked out to Der Spiegel:

This is a massive, massive contract, and the signing-on fees look major, too, if all of that is true.

Unless he hits the ground running this genuinely might be the worst free transfer ever when it was a huge factor in letting Ramos and Varane go

Apparently Varane is on € 20m/year, isn't it? Or £20m?
+ € /£10m signing on fee.

I think i've read that somewhere.

Edit: £20m incl. bonuses & image rights according to The Telegraph

No wonder they had to let Ramos and Varane go. That contract is bonkers. Glad to see them being bled dry.

The £20m/yr Ducker reported for Varane was inclusive of image righs & bonuses.

Sergio Ramos earned the same (and probably asked for more to renew) and Varane is probably getting around the same now from you, so if that contract is bonkers so are the rest.

Varane is getting €100m if reports are true over 5 years. We didn’t pay him a €17m signing on fee and the rest of the fees they paid Alabas family. Also Varane > Alaba without a question.

So 28.5 m and 120k in wages for Alaba as free agent ? Would have been better off giving Varane and Ramos an improved contract as they were demanding.

Exclusive from José Luis Sánchez:

Real Madrid and Ancelotti will count on Odegaard.

If Odegaard is not comfortable [with staying], his exit will not be frowned upon.

  • Sevilla and Chelsea have yet to start talks.
  • When talks start, Sevilla expect Chelsea to pay what they want without much fuss.
Note that this is the transfer from Sevila's perspective, which indicates that, at this moment in time, Chelsea are just connecting with Koundé's entourage and using them to get a feel for what Sevilla would like.

But we paid a transfer fee for Varane. Am sure I read a signing on fee for Varane, although I could be wrong.
