Coutinho prior to Klopp was 21-23, expecting him to be a world beater at that age as a new player to the League is a little harsh? As it turns out, as he was entering his peak, he became a machine, was it 100% down to Klopp? Or just a player naturally improving?

Pogba is just 9 months younger than Coutinho, so I doubt he's going to have the peak that Coutinho had, maybe I'm France.

All I'm saying is that some players justify not having to press relentlessly, and track back much, Messi for Barca, Ronaldo for us and Real and Coutinho for Liverpool being a few examples - Pogba will never be productive enough to justify that freedom, and that's his problem here, and will be his problem I'm any tougher league, he thinks he deserves to be the main man with a team built around him, when he doesn't justify it, and I'd bet that Klopp thinks the same and wouldn't touch him.

At Coutinhos best season he played as a pure attacker an had 13 goals and 7 assist for Liverpool. Second best season? 8 goals and five assist.

Pogba has had 13 goals and 9 assist at his most productive. Second best season (for Man Utd) he had 6 goals and 10 assist. At Juve he had 8 goals and 12 assist. In most of these he played DM for a significant amount of games. In a more attacking system, and in a more attacking position, he would not be less productive than Coutinho.

I bet Klopp would take Pogba over Coutinho every day a week as he is quite simple a much more talented player.
 
I don’t think Klopp picks midfielders based on G&A profile, boiling this all down to G&A shows up the posters who can’t think football and can only think stats.

Klopp put together a workhorse midfield and won the PL.

Pogba, a workhorse, he is not. With the circus traveling around him you might mistake him as a clown.

Best seasons yeah, Coutinho was also younger when he arrived at Liverpool and was surrounded by lesser players.

Pogba also didn't play as a DM at Juve, he had to players sitting behind him so he could focus on attack, and in a much less competitive league, which I already said suits him.

Overall, Coutinho performed better for Liverpool than Pogba has for us, and Pogba wouldn't work well for Klopp.

There's a reason Coutinho got sold for huge money when Real have always been cautious over buying Pogba.

We can agree to disagree here obviously...

The reason is incompetence and desperation on Barca's part following Neymar's departure.

Same can be said about Dembele to Barca compared to us with Sancho for example. Just cause Barca paid good money doesn't mean there was much logic behind it.

Coutinho came in on a small fee with low expectations and wages and he exceeded them and the opposite of Pogba. Personally think Pogba has been better than Coutinho but the fee, wages and expectations mean the optics aren't great
 
Guys y’all have turned this transfer thread into a Pogba vs Coutinho debate by over analyzing a couple blokes having a laugh about something totally different.

Raiola also offered Pogba to Pep and City 3 years ago when he fell out with Mourinho.
Simon Jordan, on talk sport calls Raiola the Skurge of Football and he’s not wrong!
When are Fifa and Uefa going to regulate agents and cap their commissions and also limit their ability to incite so many fires within rival clubs and fans?
We should reorganise British Football agent legislation with new laws backed by FA, PL, Uefa and Fifa stating that if a foreign player is playing in the PL, he must have a uk based Agent who must follow struck guidelines on transfer fees, club protocols and players media responsibility plus he can earn no more than 2.5-4.00% of a players wage weekly.
Just maybe we are missing another trick here with Brexit and UK law, we are no longer governed by European law and maybe in time a good legal team at Pl club will go after Raiola.
Pep and City have no love for him, maybe it’s only a matter of time.

I am sure they have a broom cupboard where they store all these excess players. A bit like going into your loft and finding things you forgot about and selling them on Ebay to get a bit of cash.

Pogba went for £93m with Addons included. Grealish has proven himself to be one of the best players in the Prem. Easily worth it, especially when you add in the English tax.

I honestly can’t remember the last player who was as hard to get off the ball, Zidane? You can give Grealish the ball and be safe in the knowledge that he’s going to carry it forward, find a good pass or draw a foul. Very few players have that ability. The number of fouls he draws is nuts.

Isn’t he first for the number of chances created last season?

Has he? I think one of the best English attacking mids, but think there's a tonne of players ahead of him.

They have bought well this year and that pretty highly rated winger from Norwich, granted he isn’t on Grealish level. And they will have another 100M to spend. Like you said, they will evaluate all things but i think they’ll sell eventually
