I don't know where he's getting this info from. Sven Westerschulze hasn't reported on this at all, interestingly.

If Chelsea offer 175m for him, he’s leaving plain and simple. Unless he personally doesn’t want to. But you get the feeling that a player is going to have warm and fuzzy feelings over a club that’s willing to show that level of faith in his talent. Dortmund can only get 100m less for him next summer, that’s far too much for them to walk away from. They’ll sing the same tune until that offer comes in.

If you look at the history of mega transfers, they rarely prove to be good investments. Harland is clearly a top tier talent but 175m on anyone, especially in this climate, is just madness. And regardless of how good Haaland appears to be, he’s going to find the step up from BL to PL huge.

starting to wonder if this big offer is for real?

I think so. Thought that for a few weeks now. Dortmund can't be that stupid to turn it down and the oligarch has made huge profit during pandemic and this summer is the only chance for you lot to sign him.

Is this going to be doable for chelsea from an ffp perspective? I know they’re more prudent these days but that’s still a serious outlay

Watch them sell Abraham for 40 million to Villa, Ziyech for 25 million, Hudson-Odoi for another 40 million and all of a sudden, their net spend is right down.

Can still offload Zouma, Emerson, Alonso, Loftus Cheek etc… too

Add to that we have already banked 40M this window.

Those numbers are never happening this summer. Covid exists for all non oil clubs

I would bet you they will get pretty close to that. Abraham and Hudson Odoi will be seen as top signings wherever they go.

Abraham, in particular, will be seen as marquee for a Villa or West Ham.

I think this is all posturing to show Haaland that they want him. That way, next summer they can say; «Look, we almost paid £175m for you last year, where were the other clubs then? We obviously the club who wants you the most»

If they offer £175m for him this summer, Dortmund would be crazy to say no imo.

175 million package probably. Not a 175 million fee. English teams will not go that far.

175 million for the player and his wages, which makes sense.

Nah it is fee, Dortmund wouldn't be tempted to sell otherwise
125 million for the fee, 50 million in wages. More than enough. Past that, it's stupid for any team. Even a team that's just won the CL.

Yup...they actually did it...

Official: Kiko Casilla leaves Leeds for Elche.

Yeah I think it will take absolutely stupid money for Dortmund to sell this year. I can't see Chelsea paying it though.

Villa have Watkins, so maybe West Ham. But if Chelsea want to sell and seemingly Tammy is happy to leave then they have no leg to stand on negotiation wise, He'd probably go for closer to 30.

There's no way Chelsea can afford 175m, they spent 200m last summer,
I imagine Haaland will want 500 grand a week minimum, his agent will want 20m signing on bonus. Not a chance.

I wouldn't be surprised if he signs an extension at Dortmund with a huge pay rise and no release clause. His agent will probably get a slice too, they've got some money from Utd to spend. They'll all make more money that way.

It's illogical business wise to buy Haaland for such money when he has a low release clause the following summer. There's still no guarantee he's nailed on to be a hit in English football very risky from Chelsea.

Haaland wouldn't want to move this summer.

Why should he care if BvB get more money for him or not.

Next summer, with a €75m release clause, he gets 40m in gross wages on his new contract, papa Haaland gets 20m bonus and Raiola gets his 30m.

Unired should put a bid in for de Jong

Never a bad idea to kick the tires on a top 5 midfielder in the world, but they won’t sell for a few reasons: 1) The Brand 2) Competitive reasons 3) Lack of desire. Barcelona ran themselves into the ground, yet they refuse to actually fix anything. Why? Because UEFA doesn’t care and they literally have the national legislature and Goldman Sachs providing them loans. Can’t imagine United struggling and pimping the nation for a few hundred million quid to prop them up.

Still, here’s hoping they implode and have to sell. De Jong is a must-buy if available. Would prefer him over Haaland right now

You lot are acting like Haaland will cost £70m for real next summer. In reality, his clause will be £70m to release him from Dortmund while Raiola will want to have £30 million to push him towards your club once the bidding war ensues, and Haaland and his dad will want to have a nice signing in bonus to sign for club x over y and z, which will probably cost another £30-40m on top of the £100m you’ve already paid Dortmund and Raiola.
