What happened with all the Saul hype?
I remember at one point Howson was talking more about him than he was about AWB.
Last thing I heard about Saul - he wasn't performing up to the standards we've seen from him.
Haven't watched much of Atleti to be honest so can't say anything really.

He had a bad last season and lost his starting spot. That‘s why he didn’t make the Spain squad either. To me(!) he was a bit overrated due to scoring one fantastic goal against Bayern (slight exaggeration)

James would benefit so much for playing for a smaller team because he'd play teams who don't sit back and park the bus almost every week so then he can use his biggest weapon...his pace.

Personally think we will keep him.

The hits just keep on coming for Barca. They’ve somehow managed to start running a reverse Ponzi scheme.
So, when the scheme collapses (Messi leaves) suddenly they have loads of money? Sounds absolutely spot on

Personally think we will keep him.
Fixed

If we did sell him he'd probably play a blinder against us & everyone will be saying, "Why on earth did we sell him?"

Loan with option to buy.

If he has even a half decent season (which is the least id expect as he's looked quality), then that 25m fee is a bargain. What on earth were the barca board thinking.. or more cynically this is all about agents and their fees.

Mendes id far more damaging to the game than Raiola is.
Absolutely. Raiola is playing the bad cop for his clients but Mendes is dictating the transfer activities of whole clubs and what feels like half the Portugese league

Hard to see Ole letting James go. We might get a really good fee for him too.

If we sell James we arent selling Martial. Rashford wont be available until September at the earliest. Cavani will be on a longer break, this leaves us with Mason, Jadon and Tony to start the season with maybe Amad and Elanga backing them up.

Mendes and Raiola are fecking parasites

They really are. I was going to comment on this earlier about Mino sucking up all the hate but Mendez is quietly destroying football and making ten times the money. He’s just smart enough to keep his head down and not trash players or clubs in public. If something was done about capping agents fees and say 10% of any transfer fee (formerly agents fees) trickled down into the lower divisions or grass roots think about how much better the game would be for everyone and not just a few greedy feckers who cornered the market early. It surely can’t go on like this forever anyway and it would be a relatively simple change to make.

Sure. He’s been there for a day and now he’s going to decide if Kane is sold or not. What a lot of horse shit. Not aimed at you by the way.

Seriously, though, if there is a very strong bid and Kane is adamant that he wants to leave, it will be Nuno sanctioning the deal and not Levy? Don’t believe that for one second.
Sadly I can see City breaking their transfer record for once and make them unplayable with either one Kane & Grealish. But certainly they just won a title have shitload of cash and don't need to strenghten anywhere but up front, so Kane for 100-120 million to city is not impossible to happen.

he would be a great fit for them, he could also play on his much better left side of attack but yeah Brighton played some pretty progressive football before getting into trouble staying up. He would be a good presser and decent attacking outlet for Potter.

Hes the best young left back in Europe. 100%

Looks pretty amazing talent, nice combination of power and technical ability, but like with other highlight reels hard to judge his defensive ability and question marks about his decision making. Shame the possible transfer is not realistic since we have a future balloon d'or winner Luke Shaw as his potential competition and Telles is a more than decent back up.

Also Semedo and Renato looked fantastic too and how they turned out, not even mentioning Dalot who can't learn how to defend to save his life.

Villa must really think they have a realistic chance of getting him.
