EDIT: Levy's statement:

Can I suggest that if Levy really believed NES held those values then he wouldn't be so pointedly referring back to the statement that he knows everyone remembers him making a few weeks back. The one where he painted himself into a corner for no apparent reason other than naked populism.

Come on Levy, even Spurs fans don't buy BS like that. At least say something like continuity from Mourinho or something.

Adrian Kajumba, however, says something else in this article:

Kajumba:
After long-running discussions which have taken place over the last two summers, Dortmund accepted United’s third offer of this window which will see them pay the £72.9m spread over four years with no further add-ons.

Why would we pay MCFC and Watford? Dortmund agreed those clauses.
The solidarity payments are supposedly coming off of the 72.9 million Pounds. That amount just missed out on the additional payment that City were owed by Dortmund as well as Watford's solidarity payment (which Ducker is implying that we're paying).

EDIT: From Ducker's article
Although Dortmund will cover the cost of the sell-on clause out of the money they receive from United, the Old Trafford club will pick up the bill for the £3.65m of solidarity payments to City and Watford.

When will people finally realise Romano is full of it.
You won't like it, but Ducker is also reporting an amount close to 90 million Euros (76.55 million Pounds according to his recent Tweet), so Romano may have been right all along...

Just been watching that Berk Goldbridge and he said Romano corrected himself and got it wrong in a subsequent tweet.

Simon Stone is usually Bob on as he gets its rubber stamped before he puts it on the BBC. He always has.

Romano isn't this transfer guru he's made out to be. I have said it all along. Remember last summer when he was tweeting about Sancho's contract completely ignorant to the fact he had signed a 1 year extension behind closed doors?

Goldbridge might be referring to the Guardian article because Romano hasn't issued a correction since posting that Tweet. That article was also authored by Jamie Jackson, and I wouldn't be surprised if Jamie put int he figure that was initially briefed out to the English journalists.

Romano's problem is that he often jumps to conclusions and gets things wrong as a result. On top of that, he seems to love repeating himself whilst the updates are incredibly small to the point of being almost negligible. He definitely has his own sources, though. He's no Nicolò Schira (who outright steals info from other journalists) or Indykaila (who makes up stuff as they go along). He is, however, a quality filter of all of the stories that come through (for me, at least). Once he finds a story from someone else, he most likely verifies it with his own sources. If they're verified, he then posts Tweets about them, writes articles on them, or discusses them in various podcasts, interviews (on YouTube and beyond), or TV shows.

I swear 90% of Italian players always underwhelm in English teams (Odd exception to the rule like Zola of course).

What Italian players have joined Premier League clubs in recent years? All the best Italian players just go to Juventus.
