  • Total fee: just under 10 million Euros
  • No deal between Lazio and West Ham, but Lazio are in talks with the player's agent

Spurs have entered the race for Bologna's full back/centre back Takehiro Tomiyasu.

Read a report Varane is on £90k a week at Madrid, makes a mockery of some of our contracts....but the same report is saying we are offering him £200k a week.....and he is asking for £400k.

May be a load of BS on any of those figures, but any truth in this, makes his possible £40-50m fee not quite as attractive and is also a signal for us to move on. More than doubling his wages and he wants them moer than quadrupled? Get outta here
I would never believe that in a million years, and you shouldn't as well.

Is he the one to unlock Pogba and perform in the role Kante does for France?
He's more renowned for his ability on the ball than his ability off it. Whilst he's willing to go in on the tackle and not shirk away from his defensive responsibilities, he's not the kind of player who you'll put much of the defensive responsibility on. At Rennes last season, he mostly played alongside Steven Nzonzi, who was the main defensive midfielder. Camavinga was then given the freedom to get more involved on the ball and be more of a midfield playmaker.

He can still develop into a solid defensive midfielder, but he's not that kind of player right now, and we can't expect him to shield the back line on his own.

Does seem low but but have been lots of players at Barcelona and Real Madrid on very low wages to accomodate the huge ones given out to star players. Cant remember the figure but Makeles moved to Chelsea I rememember had a lot to do with him having been one of there best players and on a ridiculously low wage...well googling his wages quickly three different figures shown 95k 150k and 190k which are very different of course, but even if it is the highest one and he wants £400k....that is still wanting his wages doubling....of coruse that figure can be bs too

I just hate the "weighing up a move"...I mean wtf is that telling anybody other than the story is nonsense conjecture whether we are are keen on him or not, surely we would know if we want to try and buy him or not and have watched him regularly....weighing up a move when the window is already open, he is either a target or he isnt.

You say we ant expect him to shield the back line on his own.....but we are playing two pivots and neither of those are defensive midfielders either. Personally I dont want a purely defensive midfielder anyway like an Ndidi but more of an all rounder and I think Camavinga is very much that type of player. A few people that have watched him a fair bit said he has had a pretty average season, but he is 18 and though its far too early to compare him to such a player and he isnt yet and probably never will be anywhere near that level, as the player I mention for me is one of the best of all time....but he does remind me playing wise of a young Edgar Davids and that type of player even half as talented which I think Camavinga is......would certainly be a welcome addition to our central midfield for me

My response was mainly an answer to the question of whether Camavinga can free up Pogba in the midfield (assuming that we also play Bruno). In my opinion, no midfielder bar a Casemiro at his best is capable of that, and even then, there will be a few gaps that'd open up.

Overall, he won't be a bad addition at this time for any team. His ability on the ball is top tier, and he has the energy levels to cover lots of ground, too. I feel like some people expected way more from Camavinga given how mature and skilled he looked at the age of 16, but I'll say that he's developing as expected. His all-roundedness will be of value to any team in the world.

To address the Mail story, that doesn't read like much, if anything. Many top teams, including United, are interested, and any consideration won't mean much unless it's acted upon.

No, he's a box-to-box player. Decent ball winner but not really someone you'd have protecting the back 4. Has a bigger potential upside than Fred, though.
Indeed. It would be a massive waste of his talents to limit him to a purely defensive role, which he would not shine in. At least right now.

Everyone talking about Camavinga as CDM but if I'm not mistaken - he's a CM.

That's the position he plays in his team in France. We have Paul, Donny, Fred and Scotty in this position, where will he play ?

And if he is a DM, why would you want a 18yo in that position ? that's crazy. Especially when we have a talented youngster(Garner) in this position who's 2 years older than him that we still don't give playing time to.

It would be a great summer, I can't see Camavinga coming as well though as he seems set on PSG.

I’m not sure he will be 100% set on any club, before Zidane left every report was he only had eyes for Madrid. Even if we bring in Camavinga I’d rather have another CDM than a backup RB.

Well in some parts I agree with you but Donny isn't a CM and we need someone who is better or got better potential than Fred or Scott, wouldn't you want someone coming in and perhaps taking Fred's place in the team?
I can't say if he's good but at 18 he's very young, Garner perhaps might go out on another loan or even take Scott's place?
Always good to have competition for places,

From what I’ve read he’s capable of playing any centre midfield role apart from a pure 10, he played more of a CDM role in his breakthrough season and a Box to box role this year. Based on that and his age he could be moulded into a wide array of different archetypes by the time he’s in his prime.

For me he has the potential to displace one of McFred pretty quickly and Paul and Donny have shown they aren’t ideal in a double pivot without a true CDM next to them. If Camavinga could be moulded into that CDM he’d be an obvious signing, and if Garner comes in to take that role Camavinga could give us multiple tactical options and actually give us midfield depth for the first time in ages. Would be nice to know we aren’t forced to play McFred every single big game and actually have choices.

Always good to have competition for places,

Out of the 3 places in Midfield - the CM position is the most suitable for Donny because he isn't a creator like Bruno and he isn't good enough defensively to be a DM especially in the PL.

He could use his qualities - find free spaces in order to get the ball in there, get to the box and be a threat, make quick passes in order to surprise the other teams.

All of our CM's are suffering because we don't have a single natural DM that can protect our defense and can free the other 2 midfielders to join the attack and get them the ball in area's where they are dangerous.

There is no chance anyway would pay 100m€ for Coman when Sancho is available for 95m€.
