It seems that way, usually relegation teams, even when awful, have one or two stand out players. That doesnt seem to be the case with Westbrom.
In West Brom's case, their standout players are the ones that they've brought in on loan, namely Conor Gallagher.

I'd take Pereira or Gallagher (he is a chelsea player though). Slim old pickings otherwise.

I forgot about Matheus Pereira, but the article stated that West Brom will have control over the prices given that none of their players have release clauses.

I don't think they dare after the Benatia debacle. They dipping their toes in the 'Sancho to United' waters last summer, sent a guy out there to only end up with egg on their face, again.

Yeah and lets not forget how they totally fecked up Gundogan as well

True, but they've never received more than 15m for a player, so not sure they'd go wild.

More conjecture and a rehash of the same old info from AS (the newspaper):

Basically, Real Madrid are not expected to let him run his contract down, and because of that, they'll listen to suitors. In this article, there are no mention of which clubs are interested in him, just that the club are expected to not let Varane go for free. Once again, Varane himself is said to be "seriously considering" leaving this summer, and this is based on the fact that he's yet to renew his contract (not on any info from any particular source).

Jorginho's agent João Santos:
A return of Sarri to Napoli with Jorginho is a great idea. The player has a two-and-a-half-year contract with Chelsea and it’s an important contract. In terms of football it’s possible, certainly. We have to see what De Laurentiis thinks. Naples is a city that Jorginho loves very much, which has marked an important part of his career. Sarri was an important coach for him, with whom he expressed himself at very high levels.

If we can't get Haaland, I wouldn't mind Ronnie back on a 2 year deal to finish his career here. The club probably recoups his salary and more in jersey sales alone.

We should start coming out every time a player tries to use United as a bargaining chip in contract talks, and telling the press the player isn't close to good enough for us to be interested in. Would nip that shit in the bud immediately.

Unfortunately, there's probably no chance of that happening.

Relevant quote:
Will he leave? I think the only time there was a chance for that was last summer, and I think his staff moved in that direction. I believe Mendes moved to see if there were any possibilities and did not find them. I doubt that a year later, with an even older and more out of fashion Ronaldo, these possibilities will reappear.

Essentially, Mendes had urged Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United, who both said no. Frankly, I don’t see the possibility of anything different happening now, at least in Europe.

Time for John Murtough to pick up the phone - we should be all over Locatelli this summer - he's a top player. Go on, John!
He'd be a decent Pogba replacement, but I'm not sure if he'll offer the creativity in the final third to the level that Pogba does. He's also not that much better defensively, so whilst we'll be able to pass ahead into the final third, we'll need more cover for him. Sassuolo tend to defend with low block and have several players who track back and make up the numbers at the back. He won't necessarily have that at United, and he'll have to be responsible for defending a larger area.

Full agreement for Angel di Maria's [contract] extension at PSG. According to sources close to the player, the Argentinean will sign a one-year extension with PSG in the coming days.

The Manchester United links came from RP Online a few days ago, which is a local media outlet. That particular article reads more like a response to rumours from elsewhere, and Sport Witness themselves also mention that it's the reports from England (not stating which ones, exactly, though it appears to be a journalist for the Daily Express) that state our interest in Tapsoba.

Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes:
I am not surprised that Eddy’s quality arouses interest. But the player is not for sale.

He also states that it would take an "immoral" offer (similar to what they wanted for Havertz) before they'd sell him.

Leonardo on PSG's summer activities:
Leonardo in Top of the Foot: We are so focused on the athlete [i.e. the player's performances] that it would not be good to influence that with the future of a player (Messi). We are attentive, but we have not started anything at all on the future [incoming transfers], apart from the [contract] renewals of our players.

On Cristiano Ronaldo:

Leonardo in Top of the Foot on Ronaldo: I repeat, we have not started any negotiations with any player who is not at PSG at this time.

Mendes has spoken with Madrid about the chance of Cristiano's return

and twitter Madrid on the verge of a nervous breakdown

Both United and Chelsea are interested, apparently, but sources close to the player are only stating that there are Premier League clubs that are strongly interested without mentioning any particular clubs.
