DoF thread is closed so thought I'd post this here. Not coming from our end for a change so mabye, just maybe, there's something in this.

So another transfer window closing with No value and DOF to be hired. How thick does the Glazers and Ed think we are? I hope there is massive protests to ensure the owners, Ed and Judge all pay for the shambles of the window this is. Enough with the money excuse when every club in PL has signed more players than us. Furthermore Clubs like Arsenal and Spurs who don't even have CPL money and are financially weaker than us have splashed the cash and will continue to do so in the remaining days.

Nope. It is this time of the year when they brief about DOF
Thought it'd be worth setting the record straight on this. When we "brief" it's to our UK based journalists such as Stone, Peach, Hirst, Cooper etc. You'll know it's something the club wants you to hear if it's through Cooper or Ducker. Jonas Giaever would not be one of the people we "briefed".

So after confirming Mendy yesterday, Chelsea are pushing for Rice before the end of the window now??

Must be nice being an ambitious club :(

They're at the early stages of the transfer at the moment. They're still in talks with his agents.

With West Ham setting a hard stance, only a large sum of money would convince them to sell Declan Rice.

Gotta figure there's a chance if he's actively pushing for the move

Would be quite the ridiculous window for them if the pulled it off in spite of the covid effect. Sarri wishes he would've been backed half as much as Frank

Tbh I'm beyond caring about Pogba staying or going.

We've got VdB in who can provide a lot of what he produced further up and if Pogba was to go, we'd likely get in someone better suited to a deep-lying playmaker role like an Aouar, or someone of that ilk.
Unless we get them very young French players are not going to choose here if they have other options and Aouar will have plenty.

Chelsea ,with the signings they've made, will be a success with or without Lamps. They have a clear plan on bringing to fruition.

I have three more seasons left. If I stay here at the Wolves, I’d be very happy. We know that anything can happen and there could be a change. I’m open to everything. I already had the luck to play some games [in the CL]. It’s something incredible and it’s in my plans to play again, but first I have to do what I have to do with Wolves.

Milot Rashica might still leave Werder Bremen despite a lack of recent activity.

I wonder where we end up. Interesting, even if we doubled our spending, we'd only jump up one extra spot

I always read that Emerson is close to Juventus, but I can reiterate that there have never been contacts in this transfer window with the bianconero club. Right now it’s hard to talk about his farewell, the boy only thinks of Chelsea.

If they can clear some deadwood, Rice is perfectly doable: Emerson Palmieri 20m, Antonio Rüdiger 25m, Marcos Alonso 15m. That is 60m, and probably enough money to recruit Rice, especially that he seems to be actively pushing for the move.

The problem is that no team has been able to clear out the deadwood.

If they are able to get Rice as well, I will take a break from the Caf for a few days.

  • Arsenal want to sell Torreira to Atletico and use that as leverage to get Thomas Partey.
  • Arsenal want 20 million Pounds, but Atletico want a loan first.
  • Arsenal are hoping that sending Torreira to Atletico would make them more flexible on Partey.
Honestly, I doubt that Atletico would be willing to negotiate. I personally see Torreira as a replacement for Hector Herrera.

Tired of hearing this shit, it's the same for every club but even Villa and Newcastle are doing more business than we are.

I'm tired of hearing this sort of rhetoric shit too! So naive!

Because 100M is just nothing or peanuts to a team like Man Utd.

100M is about a 1/3 of Newcastle's WHOLE CLUB (They were due to be sold for just over £350M) and I'd suspect Villa are priced at the same or less than what Newcastle are.

But yes, let's just go and spunk money on a bunch of players because smaller clubs are managing it.

Football fans are so fickle these days and want a shiny new toy each year to get all excited over.

Yes we need investment and yes we need players.

But don't go dismissing a 100M+ loss as nothing and how it simply won't affect the rest of the clubs financial out goings.

I think the table of net spend would be more fair because for example City sold players for £40m, Wolves for £70m etc. This transfer window is very underwhelming from all teams apart Chelsea.

There is a very good chance we'll end up at #2 on that list.. and a big reason Chelsea are spending that much is because they had a year off and have money from Morata and Hazard (~150m) which they havent spent.

We just dont seem to get good deals.. we spend money.. dont improve enough.

And what exactly are you basing that statement on?

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens signs for Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City.
The year is 2025. Man United prioritise right wing, agree agent fees and personal terms with Bynoe-Gittens. Dortmund bemused by United's approach.
Finally the window ends with no rw and Lingard getting another extension.

Anyone else think it might be Tagliafico?

That was the first name that popped into my head as well.

I wouldn't like to think we are dicking Ajax about by keeping them on the long finger though. We don't want to mess up the one good relationship we have with another club.
