Man, it really feels like everyone in the league is loading up like mad. Everyone except for Liverpool who have been shockingly quiet. Tbf, as runaway league winners you probably don't need much, but as a Chelsea supporter who saw two recent title winning sides fail to properly build on that success Liverpool may regret standing still.

Everton might be this season's Wolves or Sheffield United if their players click. Being a genuinely solid side finishing around the 6th-7th area.

Liverpool have signed as many players as we, and most other clubs, have. Only you and City have really spent big so far.

Napoli-related transfer details:

  • If Koulibaly is sold, Napoli will target both Sokratis of Arsenal and Marcos Senesi of Feyenoord.
  • Koulibaly's sale will also fund potential incoming transfers for both Sassuolo's Boga and Roma's Veretout.
  • Boga costs 40 million Euros.

Most people may not care about this, but as someone who tracked him from his River Plate days, this is honestly a surprise.

Imagine being one of River Plate's best players to being Almiron's successor at Atlanta United to now being sold to a Saudi Arabian club.

He started slowly in Atlanta and while he obviously didn’t get on well with De Boer and I don’t think he was ever used properly, it did seem like maybe a corner had been turned when De Boer was sacked.

I suspect he underestimated MLS a bit coming in, but he was finding his way. Very disappointing as an Atlanta fan, but if we’re selling him this quickly for a modest profit, you have to suspect he was pushing for it (likely due to the ridiculous wages he’ll get).

Yeah, I guess he will be compensated very well there. I honestly thought he'd wait until one more season as he was starting to get better, but I guess Atlanta want to profit from him before his value supposedly drops further as a result of Atlanta's poor season so far.

Brescia's president Massimo Cellino name-dropped both Barcelona and Manchester United when talking about Sandro Tonali.

Quotes:

If that was the case, I wonder why absolutely none of the Italian journalists ever reported on our or Barcelona's supposed bids.

Making stuff up, the Italian way.

It’s quite obvious that we are purely focused on Sancho and will take advantage of possible opportunities should they come up (such as VDB). Don’t think Thiago is one of them unless Pool pull out the same way Real did with VDB.

Not sure how anything is obvious unless you are in the room. Unless you believe most of what journey say.

Hopefully there's truth in this as we've not addressed this position yet, still hoping we get Thiago.

He was so awful here at Atlanta. It was almost comical at some times. I honestly thought he would dominate the MLS with how well he played at River. It was odd to me I feel like he was never really bought in, but having Frank de Boer did not help.

Yeah that makes no sense. While I agree some agents take the piss with the sums they demand and I'm all for somehow putting a cap on how much they can demand it doesn't make any sense to bam agents all together. Obviously a player would want someone he knows is on his side negotiating on his behalf.

Yeah, tbh I was just spouting off cos of how sick agents make me feel. A simple cap on agents fees may work better.

If it was me I’d just negotiate my own deal.

Agents do a lot more than sort transfers. Depending on the player they basically run every part of their lives off the pitch.

I remember reading before that some players after they retired had no idea how to change their electric suppliers because their agent had employed people to do this sort of stuff for them.

Yeah imagine that, there's value in Europe and we shouldn't deal with English clubs. Wish we'd done the same for Maguire (as in looked abroad in the first place.)
Reports are that we did and we were quoted over £100 million for Koulibaly

If, as has been suggested, we have a £100m budget, we could be looking to raise enough money to bring Sancho and someone like Upamecano in as well. Van de Beek at £35m, Sancho at £100m and Dayot at £55m would be a spend of £190m. Could we hope to raise £90m in sales? Romero, Smalling and Jones could be £35-40. Surely you'd be expecting £25m for Lingard so we'd need another £30-35m from Dalot, Rojo and Pereira which seems unlikely.
Who’s going to pay 25 million on top of his wages ? I genuinely am curious .

I've just found out Romano is only 27. I genuinely thought he was about 38-39.

Seems very young to be in such a good position.

That’s terrible. They should be learning life skills! No wonder they go broke or get depressed!

He’s obviously started very young and works extremely hard. Unlike most journalists his only real focus is transfers. If he’s still at it in 10 years he’ll be even better.

That's impressive. People like to put him down. But I'm one among the many admirers of his, specially for his work ethic.
He made himself a household name in the transfer windows just from his smartphone, laptop and lot's of meeting up with the agents of players.

More details: Solskjær has talked to Thiago in person. But so far the wage demand is too high. Too high. Solskjær is interested in signings such as play for United for the "right reasons" and not because of money.

So this is how it is now: Unless Thiago lowers wage demands, it's just a matter of forgetting United's transfer. The ball is with him.

It doesnt say too loud, it says way to high.

He's surely not going to Liverpool if we think his wage demands are too high

Delighted with this change of direction from Ole and the club. Obviously a player with Thiago's quality would be a great addition, but only if he's coming for the right reasons. It took us a while but we are finally getting back on the right track.
