Give it a week and we'll be preparing a bid.We are champions in monitoring

Don't get ahead of ourselves. We'll be considering preparing a bid.Give it a week and we'll be preparing a bid.
Hopefully. There's always a fool out there.I was thinking in terms of our COVID-19 situation and whether we'd be able to strengthen elsewhere adequately. Maybe we've found suitors for some of our fringe players?
He's a versatile player who can play in various roles. He'll basically be a better version of Andreas Pereira. He may start on the right as a wide midfield option, or he can play in the midfield in place of one of Pogba or Bruno. We could've gone for Ziyech and put him on the right. VDS would love to deal with us but we just didn't take advantage of that connection. How would VDB fit into the team? We need a wide player who's going to start.
Even the Ajax manager said there’s “developments” which have kept him out the squad. Would be weird if we’re just monitoring it and still leading the race.
Ajax are not going to be like “United are monitoring him. Best not play him”
I think we’ll all know where VDB will be playing next season by a week today
Weston McKennie's a bianconero.
One American Schalke fan that I know is annoyed at the low amount of money that Juve are paying for him. He expected McKennie to go for more than 21 million Euros over two years.Weird transfer. Good athlete, bad footballer. I reckon even Schalke fans aren't too fussed about this.
Whilst VDB clearly doesn’t solve all of our issues, if you don’t think he improves our squad, you’re clearly deluded.
Miles better than Pereira, Lingard and Mata and covers every position between the back 4 and the front 2/3.
Depending on price, he’s a good signing and allows us to move a player on, which Ole probably won’t do until he has reinforcements.
€40m is the going rate for a proven CL Squad player IMO.
If it’s true and we do sign him, it’s a good start to the transfer window
Neither is FFP when it comes to City. That can’t possibly be legally enforceable?
I agree, we're highly unlikely to sign both Sancho and VDB. At this stage though I'm quite happy to move on from SanchoDont think we need both VDB and Grealish. One would do.
If we do sign VDB that would be the final nail in the Sancho to Utd coffin imo. No way, Utd spending 140-150+ this window.

Yeah, I agree. Serdar had a better season than McKennie did, and in terms of McKennie's best role, Serdar's a better player from what I've seen.Sure, given that they are circling the drain financially fans aren't happy with just a loan, but if it wasn't for the commercial value that comes with his nationality I don't think anyone would even pay €20m. Given that reports suggested they would have to sell at least one of their remaining "stars" I think they'll be quite happy that it's McKennie and not Harit or Kabak.
Nothing at allAnything in the Fred to Galatasaray on loan rumors?

Let's not jump the gun, we'll be sending scouts to keep tabs on the player, before we consider preparing a bid....in installments, with add-onsDon't get ahead of ourselves. We'll be considering preparing a bid.
The "monitoring" part is to verify any potential developments on our end. They're basically saying that this isn't a transfer out of the blue.
Except this looks like a brief from the club given that neither Peach nor Stone report just any United-related news.It doesn’t mean anything mate it’s just one of these silly made up expressions like ‘preparing a bid’.
Basically everyone is starting to talk about this transfer, nobody knows what’s going on, so we have to say some football sounding stuff so if it happens it looks like we knew about it.

Simon Peach very rarely reports on United-related transfer news unless there's something confirmed or he gets a brief. He's not your typical armchair ITK. If you want to be stubborn about it, then whatever.Does it?
Either way ‘monitoring’ means absolutely nothing and your explanation does nothing to change that.

If you want to one-up me by calling me naive, then so be it, but I'd like to know what the basis is for this "naivety". So far, your stance is "trust no journalist", and I'd like to know what that's based on.Not being stubborn you just seem a bit naive when it comes to the media, and your attempted explanation of what ‘monitoring’ means also shows inexperience.

In fairness to peach, he's probably asked his contact at the club and been asked to play it down or told it's not done - which is just factually true. We're likely in negotiations/discussions and dont want to pre empt an outcome and risk more bad press on this stuff. Not being stubborn you just seem a bit naive when it comes to the media, and your attempted explanation of what ‘monitoring’ means also shows inexperience.
These are just guys desperately trying not to be left behind by rumoured developments.
Could be the case or we're now expecting Grealish to put pressure on Villa for a transfer away.Reckon we've been waiting for Villa to lower their valuation on Grealish, and are now moving on?

I would say that about journalists like Delaney, James Robson, or even Odgen, but regarding Peach specifically, I'd go with what Lash said. These are just guys desperately trying not to be left behind by rumoured developments.
True. I honestly think we've been waiting on one thing, and everything will move pretty quickly after that.Could be the case or we're now expecting Grealish to put pressure on Villa for a transfer away.
Peach is a bit like Stoney -He tries to play it down until deal it s 100% done.I would say that about journalists like Delaney, James Robson, or even Odgen, but regarding Peach specifically, I'd go with what Lash said.
Regarding van de Beek, our interest in him is nothing new. We've "monitored" him for a while, and van der Sar even name-dropped us when asked about van de Beek in June. All I’m saying is ‘monitoring’ the situation doesn’t have any practical meaning in reality. It’s just what journalists say if they’ve heard a club might be interested in a player.
As someone said earlier, if VdB has been pulled out of a game then a deal has been agreed with another club. If that is us then we’re well beyond monitoring. We’ve basically signed him.
Yeah, exactly. You'd rarely see transfer news coming from them until the club's gotten something done.Peach is a bit like Stoney -He tries to play it down until deal it s 100% done.
