Yes, I think Ole will be as frustrated as any fan. We really don't know which players Ole requires, but I believe he's a big fan of Sancho, who fits in with his idea of a Man Utd player. I personally, don't think we're in for many players at all. I think we were interested in Grealish, but that would have been if Pogba left, which doesn't look likely. We could be looking at a striker, but possibly only in the winter window, when Ighalo leaves. I think that Ole has complete faith in some of the academy lads coming back next summer, and slotting straight into the first team (I know that some may need a further loan, and some may not improve as much as hoped), but if we get two or three of those players in the squad next season that would be great. I'm not sure we really need a CB, left footed or not, we have Maguire, Bailly, Lindelof, Tuanzebe, Mengi and TFM (who is naturally a CB), also Shaw can slot in there, and I think Jones will still be here, can't see any club coming in for him, possibly the only way would be a pay as you play, and a possible deal if fitness is proven, and Rojo and Smalling to leave. At the moment we have Fred, Matic and McTominay for our DM, holding midfield players, Pogba, Fernandes and Mata as our creative players, Lingard and Pereira as bench players, and Rashford, Martial, Greenwood, James and Ighalo as our forward players. Unless we sell some of these players, I can't see us getting many others in.

So if we sign Sarr we'll have 4 very young and highly promising CB's waiting in the wings likely on loan for their chance. Tomori, Ampadu, Mbuyamba, and Sarr. We've seen how the loan system can pay dividends this past season so the hope is that these players all come back fully ready for the first team.

Sarr's biggest feat is to have broke through at 17. He hasn't looked like an especially good defender since. He's not among France's most promising CBs, although there's still potential.

Solskjaer doesn't seem the type to be demanding of a board and that probably a reason why he was given the job on a permanent basis to begin with. He has the air of a guy who can't believe his luck to be in the position he is in and he's not going to ruffle any feathers with those that put him there. I think he'd happily plod along being United manager and getting paid handsomely while meeting the minimum requirements of his superiors for as long as they allowed him to. Certainly anybody thinking he'd even consider walking away from the job needs to get their heads out of the clouds.

I think you do Ole a disservice there. I don't think he's happy to 'plod along being United manager and getting paid handsomely' as you state. He wants the club to be winning trophies, and playing attacking, entertaining football. I have no doubt that he has made his requirements to Ed and the board, and is waiting patiently, as we are, for any of those requirements to come to fruition. He is not a manager who will walk away from United if he doesn't get the players he wants, unlike some, he will stay and do what he can to get the club back competing for the big trophies. He also believes in the academy, and has said on numerous occasions that this is a long term plan, which could take several years before everything is in place to be successful. He loves this club, and the supporters, and will sweat blood to achieve that, but unfortunately, on here, if he doesn't achieve things in 5 minutes, then he should go.
