You say Spurs can't compete with United, but they've spent close to 200m this summer without selling anyone major yet.
They have spent less than 70m.. Net spent is under 40m... at the moment.
They also spent 0 last season. Yep. 0.
And they are either selling Eriksen, one of their better players, this summer or losing him next year for nothing...

They probably will spend another 70-80m today if they get in Lo Celso and Sessegnon, but might sell someone ..

They arent spending more than any other top club.

All they have to offer is CL football for this season.

Have a look at their squad..
Son is still their best back up to Kane. They havent got a backup striker.

They sold Trippier, who was their first choice RB and have Aurier, who is rubbish and Kyle-Walker-Peters.

Eriksen wants out and needs to be replaced.

I know its all doom and gloom here .. But things are far from rosy at Spurs.

They have signed a CM and a winger who has gone back on loan.
Will probably get another CM in Lo Celso and a LB (Sessegnon) to replace Rose, who will probably be sold..

Spurs dont have CL guaranteed.. Far from it.

And they reached the CL finals.. Ajax reached the semis. Leicester won the league. It was a freak situation.

They arent the 2nd best side in Europe. They are nowhere near the list of best sides in Europe. Had a great run. Good for them, but they are overperforming, but a big club they most certainly are not.

can we just fast forward to Sunday and give Chelsea a 4-0 dicking?

I feel this would go some way to alleviate the doom we're all feeling

The same Spurs who finished above us in the league and got to the CL final.
For 5 pts and 2 more goals and more defeats? Yeah... I suppose context sucks but we will have to deal with it.

They’re paying 75 million for Dybala but couldn’t afford Bruno?
If they do sign Dybala, I’d like to know the economics of how things worked out.

You could argue that Dybala is worth that sum, but not Bruno (commercial value, proven WC player in form, the effect the signing has on the club etc.).

We changed manager half way through the season and they finished 2 points above us. Yes 2 points. You make out like they were miles away from us.

Where did I make that out? I simply stated a fact.

They are now strengthening significantly whereas we are ignoring gaping holes in the team. Not to mention things like they have a better manager and they are based in London with a new stadium. Short of being a United fan, Spurs are a much more enticing choice unless you're just after higher wages.

Anyone believe these Rojo rumours, I really hope Ed doesn't price him out of a move, his wages will be a massive obstacle already.

We should ask for little up front and try to be creative with the bonus payments - £1 million per two footed tackle, £2 million per red card. He'd soon be the most expensive player in world football.

Based on absolutely nothing, neither is there any assurance that Spurs will find a resolution. I swear some of you will find anything to bash Woodward with.
Reports are that they will find a solution and that is with a club that doesn't pay high wages. It is a very good proof imo. Woodward need to be kicked out of the club as soon as possible, I can understand Liverpool fans loving him tbf.

He could have chosen the team who only managed to win 19 premiership games instead.
Yeah I bet dybala thought I cant go to a team who only won 19 I must go to a team that won 23 games and lost nearly half of their games. The pull is more to do with london and then scraping the champs league. If we had scraped it he may well be coming here.

That's what Woodward briefed and wanted you believe imo.

It chimes with the policy Ole wanted to implement because of transfers that have burned us in the past. It also chimes with all the reports from Italy that said Dybala had no interest in leaving Juve and if he did he wanted to play in Spain

If Levy get the Dybala deal over the line with Juve paying a share, Woodward will have been utterly exposed for the 2bit amateur he is. Wish he could stick to his day job and get us a proper DOF to handle the sporting affairs.

To be honest I see it the other way round. Manchester United are going to get alot of dickings this season. Probably worse than the David Moyes season. As a United fan, I am not looking forward to that.

Late equaliser in a 1-1 draw more like, followed by a loss away at Wolves

It is going to be a long season, already dreading it

I don't think anyone was actually in for Bruno. We've been linked all summer but journos close to us kept saying we weren't interested. After the last time they said that suddenly Spurs were "after him"

I'm not particularly confident the actual football is going to be the thing that lifts the gloom.
I felt last season that we didn't do enough in the transfer window and needed more quality in. I wasn't surprised by what followed once the football started, and I wouldn't be surprised if this season was pretty similar.

I'd say lots of 0-0s, didn't we just improve our defence or does that not count because we didn't sign a attacking midfielder?

Spurs are having their transfer window of the century, while Woodward struggles to sign a right-winger/striker and a midfielder. There are plenty of options for a new midfielder, just sign someone ffs.

How does him joining Spurs chime with that exactly? And these "burned in the past" transfers will probably prevent us from signing a CDM better than Matic for the next 10 years? It chimes perfectly with low net spend on the other hand.

Exactly both our arguments were rubbish.

They have CL, they have a better team, they have more ambition and they have London.

Well done Spurs if they do seal the deal, I really hope they finish above City and Liverpool.

We haven’t had a clear philosophical for all those years and tried for short term success. It clearly didn’t work.

Now we got a clear vision and philosophy and I expect us to challenge for the title in the next 3 - 4 years

We had a clear philosophy under LVG, you might not have liked it but it has been explained and adopted by LVG throughout his career.
Can you please explain our current philosophy?
