I just have a feeling he'll end up there. He's the exact type of big name player they are usually after. What other potential clubs? Real, Bayern? Maybe even City?

Bayern wouldn’t pay the wages. Real and City are possibilities although doubtful. I’m honestly surprised Barca aren’t in for him. Always thought that’s where he’d end up. But then Felix also seems perfect for them and they seemingly aren’t interested in him either. Weird.

They are going to blow their entire budget on Griezman and De Ligt probably. £110m for Griezmann, £60m for De Ligt that's £170m. I don't think there will be much left unless they sell a lot. They've spent £60m on De Jong already as well.

The fume from the scousers would be absolutely hilarious. Plus it’s not all perfect....if Coutinho had been a massive hit at Barca (like Suarez) it wouldn’t have looked such great business.
Just because we’re totally incapable of spending money wisely doesn’t make every other club’s business perfect, it just looks great by comparison

Even if he replicated his Liverpool form, the scousers had the better end of the deal.

True.

The frustrating thing is that someone always seems to step up for them when they lose a star. It’s been a recurring theme since Torres. We all laughed when he went to Chelsea. Then Sturridge stepped up for that freakish season, almost winning them the league, and they bought Suarez. He had a great season - eventually being sold and again we thought they’re going to collapse without him - and suddenly Coutinho stepped it up looking like an absolute world beater, winning games for them single-handedly. And now Firmino/ Salah/ Mane/ VVD/ Alisson (predominantly bought with the Coutinho cash) have transformed them into an even better team without Coutinho, when we thought they’d go to shit without him.

They’re like a video game boss where if you chop off its head, another two grow in its place.

Incredibly frustrating to see as an outsider.
Well, at least everyone is playing well for them now, so they’d have to take a bit of a risk and buy someone. I mean, if Origi suddenly steps up and bangs in 40 goals next season then yeah, I’d be a bit fecking mystified

Player wants champions league football ? Let's say he goes to Chelsea, they draw Saltzburg, Lokomotiv Moscow and Atlanta in the group stage and get knocked out ! Really ? 6 matches against unfashionable teams in front of a half empty Stamford Bridge, and then they don't qualify for another 3-4 years !
Far fetched ? Maybe, but there is no guarantee (Barca, Real, Juve, Bayern, PSG) of success in the Champions league, it's just another excuse to be at a top club, which equals more money.

It's common, besides this year all the other years we have mostly drawn Europa league teams in the group. The year with Lvg we had Wolfsburg, Psv and Moscow. The other year with Jose we had Basel, Moscow and benfica in the groups then got knocked out by Sevilla who are synonymous with the Europa.

Yes - we should of bought him before he went to Barca.

Looks like there's a lot of good RBs to choose from this summer :D

Exactly my point, there is no guaranteed success or even guaranteed 'glamour' ties.
What's the likely headline? Zaha red carded for two blatant dives against İstanbul Başakşehir, due to miss back to back ties against Barcelona !

If he’s available I’d have him on a par with Cancelo in terms of RB priorities. We really should have bought him when he was linked with Barca initially.

He was linked with Barcelona though. Why would he have come to us in preference?

Yeah totally what you say.
As if 6 games is the deal breaker for a move!
Oh sorry united, ac milan etc im off to celtic instead

I get it but the moment we enter for him the price will go 50m. Our desperation is the cause of us ending up paying insane money. They know if United come for a player they will pay stupid money.
Pretty sure he is valued a lot higher regardless of buyer. 25m was the release clause iirc
