So we are potentially going into the next season with a weaker midfield and, if we sell Lukaku, less attacking options than the previous year, in which we finished 6th?

this club
Bad isn’t it.

The attack I can forgive if the plan is genuinely to put faith in Greenwood. I think he’s a rare talent.

There’s nobody in CM ready to step up imo

SSN just said United are unlikely to make further signings.

This is the weakest CM in some time
Can't wait to see how Ed spins it when he briefs the press after deadline day. I'm thinking something like "No value in the market/didn't want to be mugged off/giving chances to youth".

I would class him as a powerful runner, similar to ROoney, not slow but certainly not fast

In his early 20s prime, Rooney was actually very fast - in this goal against Arsenal in January 2010, he actually ran faster than Usain Bolt (though not obviously over 100m):

He’ll wait a day for people to vent. Then when people start to accept it and claw for positives, he’ll announce DDG’s new contract.

Yeah...we said no to Neymar while sitting in the Europa League. Makes total sense.
No way in hell on earth would Neymar ever come to United after that CL match. He was legit upset. Would not want him anyway. He's a tool.

We have more attacking options than last year. Weaker midfield. And much better defence.

are you counting the kids or something? because they were here last year too

Regardless, if we sell Lukaku, despite his many flaws, and don’t bring anyone else for the attack, we are weaker attacking wise than we were last year

Yeah, we rejected Dybala and Neymar apparently:lol: One would think we've won treble last season and have a world class player for every position. Just imagine the horror, Dybala or Neymar taking away minutes from young, hungry, British talent like Daniel James!

With Upamecano, Tierney + Bellerin and Holding back to go with what is arguably the best attack in the league, yes they’d be in a better position than us and Chelsea quite easily. And maybe on par w Spurs and Tottenham and Poch’s boys

Ehm….

Is Leno better than DDG ?

Bellerin will probably have to wait until october before he can expect to Reach topform after his injury. And even back to fitness and form are Bellerin and Tierney better than Shaw and AWB ?

Is Upamecano and Holding better than Maguire and Smalling/Lindelof ?

Granted their attack is stronger than ours…..

But who in Arsenals central midfield would you want, despite this being our weakest position ?

Greenwood and Gomes were not ready last year, now they certainly are. Also James was signed. These three in, Lukaku out in attack. I think we are better off in this department

SSN : United close to sealing deal for Player X
Caf: BS, Sky just promoting SkyBet

SSN: United to make no further signings
Caf: Ed Woodward needs to go, we are finishing 8th.....

The 'Italian Guillem Balague' hasn't had a good summer.

I find him a massive fraud for news outside of Italy and yet he's trusted like he's God.

No way in hell on earth would Neymar ever come to United after that CL match. He was legit upset. Would not want him anyway. He's a tool.
I'm pretty sure he'd rather stay at PSG than come here to play with Rashford, Martial and James anyway. As for not wanting him here, have you seen what our attack looks like?

Can't wait till till we turn down Ronaldo and Messi later in the summer!

They are ruthless because Danilo wasn't good enough for their standards so they got rid of him. Efficient as in, deal is wrapped up in space of 4 days since the proposed swap came to the fore.

They are strengthening the squad with Cancelo, it provides them with more depth. Its ludicrous to compare their situation with ours which is in need of reinforcement in several positions in our first team. Plus, we are still paying Darmian wages even though he's been surplus for 3 years now. So yes, we are not ruthless and efficient in the market.
Don't disagree with everything you said but the cancelo links to city have been around for a few weeks now. So not as efficient as some might think. Or there were hold-ups which we're not aware of, which tends to happen with such expensive transactions, and that happens to every team including us.

Well they did get a year older, so I'd expect much more involvement than last season where they only made a few sub appearances.

It's fine. The top reds have assured us we don't need those signings. We're putting all our faith in the youth because it's the United way etc.
Yep. Unless you act hysterical and slam the club at every opportunity you're a top red.

Greenwood will start many matches this year, that’s for sure. Gomes has more competition in this regard.

there's no substantial evidence that the kids are ready this year. they have taken part on our tour, as they did last year. they have trained with the first team, as they did last year. yes, they have potential and looked good in preseason games, but we are reportedly selling Lukaku, who happens to have a better goal scoring record than Rashford, and relying on a couple of youth players and a kid that has just been purchased from the championship. How are we better off? at least let said kids have one or two seasons with the first team before heaping these crazy expectations on them

I'm not worried about Gomes either. At some point one of Mata or Lingard will get injured and that puts Gomes on the bench. The youngsters will not start from the beginning but come the business end of the season I expect them to be getting a lot of playtime.

Lukaku will definitely leave, even if its after the window. I still refuse to rule out Pogba being sold in a similar manner.

No more incomings, as far as I'm concerned.

We'll finish 8th.

Thats Mourinho level thinking. The evidence is on the training pitch not in league matches. If you keep waiting for kids to score 10 goals a season before making them part of the first team then you lose them like Pogba. In Gomes' mind he's has good if not better than than competition for his spot. Same with Greenwood. So now they need to sink or swim.

To be fair that camp are just as bad as the Glazer apologists whose heads are so far up Woodward's arse they can see the prawn sandwiches he had for lunch.

Ed and United get uber shit for buying players at inflated prices.

Ed and United get uber shit for not bargaining or negotiating over ridiculously low ball offers for players.

Ed and United get uber shit for not selling players at prices expected from fan base.

Ed and United get uber shit for not selling players the fans feel aren't up to the job.

Ed and United get uber shit for not buying the players the fans want because they have sèen them on FIFA or feel They have seen them enough to know better than everyone else.

Ed and United get uber shit, often without reason or understanding and maybe, just maybe, they should be given a little credit and love and support and encouragement rather than constant negativity. The majority of which is often knee jerk and misplaced.

Im still going to hold out hope that we can get something done and pray that SSN is talking bollocks as usual.

The thought of Mata, Lingard and Pereira as our main attacking midfielders is too unsettling to think about right now.

Tierney, Bellerin and Holding have had no pre-season have no guarantee they'll be ready anytime soon for the first team. Tierney is potentially out with another injury too. Upamecano would not stop Sokratis, Monreal, Mustafi and Maitland Niles still getting in the side.
Can say the same about Jones, Young, Smalling who will all get at least 20 league games for us.
