Unless we can get Cancelo. Signing AWB just makes too much sense. Which is why it probs won’t happen.

I expect we'll be looking for someone who is a bit better going forward than AWB. Solskjaer seems to be a fan of narrow midfields with fullbacks proving the attacking threat from out wide.

OK that's asking for a bit too much, 80 million Euros is almost 70 mill pounds, that's just 5 mill less that what we bought him for. Given how shite has been, I'll be more than happy if we get 60 mill pounds for him

He was shite when we paid £70m for him though, was always a nonsense signing

We would have to flog Pogba to pay for that.

Even then it's a stretch.

Yep, three very expensive players. I think we would pay up for Wan-Bissaka and Sancho because of their age. Unless they flop badly they should retain or increase their value in the foreseeable future. Koulibaly it's harder to make the case for. Napoli supposedly want a gigantic fee for him and he's 28 next month. If he was the final piece in the jigsaw then it's justifiable, as one of many signings for a team that probably won't be challenging next season... we might be better off going for a cheaper alternative like Maguire or Ake.

Nicolas Pepe's production is stunning and I may prefer him to Sancho but I feel like we have a better shot at Sancho.

Thought he was in favour of shit, old fullbacks by the name of Ashley Young?

All of his goals seem to come from counter attacks when he has acres of space, and from clips he seems to have the same dodgy control as the rest of our forwards. Sancho would offer a different dimension to our attacks with his close control.

Window opens tommorrow. I expect Sancho, Koulibaly AWB, Fernandes all to be signed by then.

So having a midfielder who can score goals is not as important as one with close control?

Sign them both, we deserve to be over stocked in that position for once

That's the type of no brainer transfer we should be after, only 25 million is an absolute bargain for him.
I get it but the moment we enter for him the price will go 50m. Our desperation is the cause of us ending up paying insane money. They know if United come for a player they will pay stupid money.

Lot of German league players available and we are not even trying. KDB, Sane, Keita, Son, Matip - all would have helped us by great extent .

It wouldn't because he has a release clause of only 25 million

I hope we don't bother with Griezman, (I say that also feeling he wouldn't be in the least interested in us). If we were in the champions league, I'd have been for getting Griezman along with Lewandoski because it would totally up our offensive department, and also 20m more for a proven versatile attacking talent like Griezman vs Sancho is a no brainer for me.

Tasty, though I don't think he will be a replacement for Lewa, which I was hoping. Don't think Griezmann would be suited to a single striker role, though him and Gnabry in a 3-5-2 would be very very good.

Bayern's rumours are a bit wayward though. Sane and Griezmann would seem to be suited to two different formations at Bayern.

Not worth half of that.

The club did the right thing not bowing to that.

There's no trophy for most appropriate wage structure. I'll congratulate Woody if we actually sign a replacement thats equal or better

Perhaps Kovac has a 4-4-2 in mind, which would seem to accommodate both Sane and Griezmann quite nicely.

There may not be a trophy for a proper wage structure but handing out 200k contracts to 30 year old bench warmers is never sustainable. I’m glad the club is taking this seriously and not handing out big contracts like candy. If we set a trend like that, every player will start demanding 200k

Sign Rabiot for free to replace Herrera,he is apparently demanding 175k per week which is 25k more than we were ready to pay Herrera. He isn’t a huge improvement over Herrera but is better than him. If we buy him to replace Herrera, we will be getting a player who is 5 years younger and better than Herrera for a 25k per week extra. I would say that’s a steal
