Remember when this guy played the loyalty card when we were interested? So loyal fecking off to Barca huh?

He didn't want to desert Atletico at a time where they were under a transfer ban. He stayed extra so they can come out of it and at least replace him.

In fairness to Griezmann, he stayed two summers when he could have easily left. They got two years more out of him than they thought and are making more money off of him than what was his clause last two times. He probably wanted to see some of the new signings kick on or get someone better to help him (Costa has been a flop for example) and has been given a very heavy workload. At this point he probably fancies a bigger club and an easier role in the team. Fair enough.

It just shows you how a top club striving to improve should be run.

United persist with the likes of Lingard.

Barcelona have Coutinho, Dembele and Malcolm and they could easily say ‘let’s give them another year to see if they can progress’, but no, they go out and sign Griezmann.

Wow, the posters over on Barcaforum seem really negative on Griezmann.

It was a 1 window ban and Diego Costa was incoming. Had he joined us then it would have hurt Atletico less than this will.

As well as De Jong and probably De Ligt, whilst we persist with Jones & Smalling etc

Not trolling here, genuine question - you guys are linked with all these big, star players but why would the likes of Koulibaly, Sancho, Pepe etc go to United who are in a bit of a crisis right now and are in the Europa League? Your manager isn't a draw, either. These are players who will basically have their pick of top CL clubs who can also offer big salaries.

Unless you pull an Alexis and pay ridiculous, silly wages do any of these links seem realistic?

There is also the chance that these players might have their heart set on playing in premiere league which doesn't leave them with many options when you take into account that Liverpool and City don't really need anyone new.

You would assume they've found a taker for Coutinho?

Costa was bought to suppliment the team, not to replace Griezmann. His arrival was inevitable long before the transfer ban.

It was 1 summer window, which is quite major to be honest. He showed loyalty to complete a U-turn to a club who would have inevitably offered him shit loads of money.

If he left he'd get called a money grabbing rat, if he stayed an extra year to allow Atletico to act properly in replacements, he'd be called other names. People need to grow up.

So Barca are looking for some mug to take Coutinho off their hands to pay for this, can't see any takers personally.

Chelsea might want to sign him. Can't see them willing to pay anymore than 80-90 million though.

The 3 players would be amazing. Sancho is the number one player I’d want this summer. Still not sure if he would come this season though. Wan Bissaka would be a great upgrade at right back. Personally would prefer De Ligt over Koulibaly but I think he will end up at Liverpool

I was desperate to see him sign for us when we had a chance. He will be fantastic at Barca
He was so clearly the type of player our attack needed, especially to pair with Pogba. I think Dybala could actually be a fine alternative, but it seemed like Griezzy had more of a connection to United which helped to calm some insecurities.

They have no rhyme or reason to their transfers and have been panic buying over the last few years to make an impression in Europe.
This is not how a big club is run and it will take a nose dive when Messi goes and he's not there to cover for it all.
Coutinho and Demblele cost them 300m alone for Christ sakes and neither will be in the first 11 next year

Yeah and when Messi goes I think their revenue and appeal will take at least a little hit and they'll have all this money to cough up and can't keep spending that much of their revenue on wages. Barca's current current model would require La Liga to get Premier League type money IMO.

I can see Dybala going to Atletico this summer. Atletico making 200m from the loss of Griezmann and Hernandez. Have already signed Hector Herrera for free, agreed Filipe for around 25m, probably get Telles for around 30m so unlikely to get fleeced by clubs that know they have money burning holes in their pockets by getting players early.

We're Manchester United!! :)

A club is going to pay Rodri's clause. His destination: City,Bayern or Barsa.
The club already know it

Madrid have closed Hazard and Eriksen is advanced although is a player that doesn't excite Zidane

Surely, this doesn't need explaining. How did you attract Kante? Luiz? Jorginho? Kovacic? Higuain? Pulisic?

It’ll be a sad day if De Ligt signs for ‘pool. He’s the leader we need to kick off this rebuild.
