Not trolling here, genuine question - you guys are linked with all these big, star players but why would the likes of Koulibaly, Sancho, Pepe etc go to United who are in a bit of a crisis right now and are in the Europa League? Your manager isn't a draw, either. These are players who will basically have their pick of top CL clubs who can also offer big salaries.

Unless you pull an Alexis and pay ridiculous, silly wages do any of these links seem realistic?

We’re Manchester United. Playing for United will always be an enormous draw. Oh, and the wages will be always be excellent even if not at Sanchez level.

United don’t need a fancy name manager to attract players, you already know that though.

- Wan Bissaka
- Koulibaly
- Sancho

Amazing set of signings if we can pull that off IMO.

Still not enough mind.

Simple answer: Where we are now, does not define us. We're still the biggest club in the land.

"It's been an incredible five years, thank you very much for everything, I’ve got you in my heart”

Ornstein says in this clip that 'Sancho looked nailed on a few months back'. Now he has reservations about the clubs stability and missing Champions League football.
Yeah you and me both, Jadon

Pepe is not a star payer, which club will pay 60m for him? We are the only club desperate for a RW. Also Koulibaly, nobody will pay 100m for him, except United. Sancho will stay for another year at Dortmund anyway.

Shame we can't get Sane. He'd be great for us

If only!!!! Even though I don’t see Pep saying no to this if we really showed interest. Maybe the owners and reputation. However if they thought selling an unwanted player to us would be shitting on us. I’d take this.

Hence why these are great signings for us. This has to be our market over paying on players the top teams at the minute wouldn’t risk. Would any club spend £50m on Thiago Silva from AC Milan? This is how you have to play the market.

The Griezmann to Barca went down pretty quickly. And all that after La Decision  Think after Godin leaving and Atletico more and more struggling for trophies, he had enough.

Perhaps some of these players fancy the challenge of returning United to where they want to be. United don't need to improve all that much to be able to overtake current Chelsea or Arsenal. Also, if spurs don't invest much and/or lose Poch this summer they risk being out of the top four.

I reckon there's players out there who would pick United in the EL over Chelsea in the CL. Some wouldn't, but we're not exactly Scunthorpe

Obviously the club is a big draw. But why would these players go to you if say Juventus/Real Madrid/PSG/City/Liverpool are also after them. That's what I'm curious about.

If players like KK and Sancho are indeed there for the right price there will surely be a long que of top teams sniffing around.

Because Napoli, Dortmund and Lille are all much smaller clubs than Man Utd even during our ‘crisis’. A lot of other teams can’t afford their price tag and we pay good wages.

Going through each of them.

Koulibaly. Price too high for Madrid with their rebuilding focused up front, Barca want De Ligt, Juve and PSG don’t seem to want a CB, City seem set at CB, Liverpool won’t spend that much to partner VVD unless it was De Ligt. Chelsea may have a transfer ban and have a lot of CB’s. Arsenal don’t have the money. Bayern have loads of quality CB’s. That pretty much leaves Utd as his only option this summer.

Sancho. Left City already, too much money for Juve after Ronaldo and they have Bernadeschi, PSG play Mbappe off the right, Chelsea just bought Pulisic, Real want Hazard, too much money for Arsenal, Liverpool have Salah. Bayern is a possibility.

Pepe. Lille to Utd is a big step up. Bayern have ruled him out reportedly. Other teams similar situation to Sancho in that they have other options in the RW/Forward area. Chelsea may be a possibility if their ban is delayed.

United and City are fine but Liverpool, it's completely different. If City receives the highest bid from us for Sane, he only wants to move to us, City would be okay with it if it mean they can reinvest in the top players, I suppose.

But I can't see Sane wanting a move to us so it won't happen.

Jesus, Atletico let that cringey twat make another announcement? Surely they are sick of it by now. I'd have just stuck a notice up on the website saying he's informed them he wants to leave instead of giving him more air time.

So Barca are looking for some mug to take Coutinho off their hands to pay for this, can't see any takers personally.

Spot on, fed up of seeing people say we have no chance with big players. I'd love to have Koulibaly and Sancho but don't see both happening as it would use a lot of our budget and a midfield rebuild is clearly needed this year.

Plenty of reasons as you well know. Sancho for example would have Ronaldo, Neymar, Mbappe, Salah etc ahead of him at those clubs, he left City in the first place for that reason.
No point in spelling it out for you here, United have missed CL and looked a shambles for years, but players will keep joining. Ronaldinho for example joined Barcelona over United when they were as much a feck up as we are now, everyone has their own reasons for the challenge they take on.

What’s certain is, United will bring in some quality this Summer regardless.

Players have their reasons why they make certain decisions but ultimately the club is a big draw.

Why did Ramsey choose Arsenal over us? Why did Pogba choose us over Zidane's Madrid when we were in Europa League few years back? Yes he had connections here but I don't think anyone would've lambasted him if he chose Madrid over us.

Point is, football players don't think like fans do.

At this moment it would be purely one of two reasons. 1. They are United fans (even still that's a stretch) or 2. Money. It's not the football, the draw of the manager or an expectation of results. We arguably have the most uncertain looking next 2-3 seasons among all the "big" clubs.

Why did Bale turn us down for Spurs? Etc etc etc

What a wank biscuit this guy is. I do wonder how he'll get on in the Land of Messi.

I was desperate to see him sign for us when we had a chance. He will be fantastic at Barca

Barca have spent around £280m on forwards since Neymar, none of them have done the business so they go and get another £120m player. No messing about, trying to get the most out of Messi's career.

How do they have the money to buy De Jong and Griezmann and still want De Ligt?

Griezmann creates a video about how much he loves Athletico and how happy he is to stay and then leaves the next year? Gotta love footballers.

Does this mean that De Ligt goes to Liverpool or is there any chance Barca can still afford him?

Remember when this guy played the loyalty card when we were interested? So loyal fecking off to Barca huh?
