If that's true then can someone please explain the following train of thought:
- Manager wants transfers done by preseason
- United interested in Bruno Fernandes
- months worth of links to Bruno
- United still considering signing the player with less than two weeks left of the transfer window
How exactly does that happen? Someone please explain to me how it could possibly be anything other than poor poor handling of our transfers.
I agree it's poor, but I wonder what is exactly happening in those negotiations. Something is so so weird. If that's true then can someone please explain the following train of thought:

Literally why. I swear him and the rest of the Ayews are just constantly swapping between Palace, Swansea and Villa.
Don't you mean Aye-w?!Aye.
There's what, six of them, right? We should get one too.

Who can Arsenal sign that will cause this?If arsenal end up with a better window than us, I'll be sad.

Only one reason: price demanded by the selling club combined with what the buying club wants to offer. Woodward and the Glazers don’t want to overpay.
No reasonable club would. No different to us and Madrid over Pogba.
Unless you want to end up like Barca, massively living beyond your means. If people don’t think shit with Barca will hit the fan at the rate they’re going, they’re kidding themselves.
It’s not about penny pinching owners and woody. It’s about running a self sufficient and successful business
This is a very naive way of looking at it. We’ve offered 70m bloody pounds for Maguire and your negotiating tactic is just pay more? We’d run out of bloody cash. If teams won’t budge on price, we shouldn’t creep up when we’ve already made a very fair bid.My concern is we don't have the money. And we're trying to play games with the terms. Sounds like we've only offered 20 for Longstaff. 70 for Maguire. Fine. But the selling teams want more. Follow up. Negotiate now so that we're not scrambling and overpaying. Why wait? It's madness to wait until the last two weeks when the selling team literally can't replace him. I don't know if it's judge or Woodward doing these things but they both need to be removed from the club quickly. We needed to spend 300m to catch up for this season. If we don't get another CB or RW, I can't see us getting top 6. Even with Maguire, top 4 is going to be impossible unless we get very lucky with injuries. Why are we allowing this to happen to our club?
He used to leak the United teams early so may actually have some contacts.

We won't play a 4-4-2 diamond. We've been playing 4-2-3-1 all preseason, and if we're gonna play something else it'll probably be 4-3-3. 4-4-2 diamond might happen in certain games, but not as our main formation. I'm guessing you haven't seen that many games this preseason?I think slowing down a bit on the transfer front is fine as well. We won't have a title challenge next year anyway, so we should give this whole youth thing a shot and if Ole flops horribly we won't be stuck with yet another re-build job once a new manager / philosophy come in.
We'll make atleast one more big money signing (I'd much rather it be some CM / Winger than Maguire), but even if we've only got James, Maguire, AWB, we'd have strengthened key deficiencies in the squad really well. If we get someone like Eriksen (or any other AM like Fernandes) to top it off, it'll be the perfect summer for me.
Excited to see a 4-4-2 diamond (we've played this with Mata at the tip of the diamond last season)
---------------- De Gea -------------------
-- AWB -- Maguire -- Lindelof -- Shaw --
------------------ Matic -------------------
---------- McTominay -- Pogba -----------
------------------ Eriksen -----------------
-- Rashford -------------------Martial ----
In defence it will look more like a traditional 4-5-1 with Eriksen / Rashford occupying the forward role and the other one dropping off to cover the RW.

It looks like we have enough depth at CM but someone like Longstaff to rotate with Matic would be great as well. McTominay can play the Matic role when he's rested / injured. McSauce can be rotated with Fred / Pereira. If Pogba is rested, we'd have to switch to a different formation and play a 5-3-2 (with Rojo replacing him) or 4-5-1 with James / some other winger replacing him and Rashford upfront.
We don’t know what the rejection was, was it just the structure of the deal or a flat out no. We also could have moved on as well, but getting similar prices. I don’t think we’re playing this as bad as everyone thinks.Move on then and find another option. It’s mental just to hope we sign him.

There’s also a chance that Gomes has impressed on tour and we decided to give him an opportunity before bringing someone else in.

Based on nothing.Nah, does sound like us
Sounds like a 10 is only a priority if pogba leaves though. Right now priority appears to be a cb and depth in the double pivot, which will likely cost between 100 and 140m based on prices quotes for maguire and longstaff. That brings spending to 150 to 200m. I doubt they want to jist sign a 10 for 75m when the priority positions aren't sortedAnd if Pogba stays, we are happy with Mata and Lingard? It simply cannot be if the manager has any ambition
We might want someone else more than Bruno, but it’s unthinkable that we only want a midfielder if Pogba leaves

These are your priorities though and not the priority reported by the 3 or 4 reliable journalistsWe have 4 priority positions now that RB is sorted. We can’t hope to challenge for the league if we dont buy strong CB, DM, AM and RF.
It’s only if we lost ambition and are happy with a top 4 finish - but the supporters won’t be happy with that

We can't buy a midfielder until we are sure Pogba stays or goes, as the whole composition and balance would change. If he goes then we need a replacement, and have a far bigger budget left to get another midfielder too, who would be bought to fit for example Savic rather than Pogba. We need Real to hurry up and offload Bale and James. Regardless of what Ole says, this delay in buying midfielders just confirms to me that Pogba does have a price. Just one that Real can't afford without selling Bale and James first. And if Pogba stays, we are happy with Mata and Lingard? It simply cannot be if the manager has any ambition

I don't think he has the quality for a top 4 side.Would be such a poor move from him, salary increase aside. Surely he can hold out for a top 4 club for another season.
