I doubt it. It is all bs from players agents. We will at the end overpay Maguire and that will be our only transfer this window. We can't sell bloody Darmian for 10 mil, ffs!

We’ve signed as many star players as any club over the last 5 years, not sure why recent history would suggest we can’t get big deals done.

I disagree, you want at least 2 good players for every position. Then maybe youngsters after that

LW - Martial/ Rashford, James
CF - Rashford/Martial, Sanchez/ Lukaku (need to lose one or both) Greenwood
RW - Pepe, Sancho, Chong
AM - Fernandes, Lingard, Gomes

Mata - utility or sell when we get Sancho

Pepe and Sancho have no bearing on how Martial does as different wing.

The players to go to make space are Lukaku, Sanchez, Mata and maybe Lingard.

Don't speak too soon!

If Lukaku goes we break even on summer signings. There is no certainty on who else is coming in or numbers. Wouldn't be surprised if only Maguire which would be a disaster.

That seems a high fee I was hoping maybe they would value him at £60m and pay the excess £20m. So we could add a bit to the £20m get Ben Yeddder, the we have our right wing sorted and a striker to replace Lukaku but I don't know how much Everton would be prepared to pay, should it ever materialise.

Next summer is going to very hard to get to get him. As I predict he will have another decent season and could play well at the Euros putting his valuation out of our reach. We could waitv tilll next summer try for him alol next summer and not get him and we'd be fecked and could be stuck without a right wing signing again. It's crazy :wenger:

Potentially interesting 2 weeks ahead always felt we'd get Maguire and that feeling hasn't changed
Newcastle will be mad to reject £30m for Longstaff who has just 9PL appearances
Any other signing dependent on Lukaku going as Pogba isn't leaving
 
I'm so fecking done with this window. Man down. I'm sick of us 'talking', 'preparing' and 'making progres'. Compounded by the fact any man and his gran can get a post in the tweets section because anybody is ITK these days. Wish the window would just shut already.
 
I see that PSG have poached Xavi Simons from Barcelona. Feels like a nice bit of political scheming from Raiola, the agent everyone loves to hate. Barcelona wouldn't agree to his De Ligt demands so they get punished by losing one of the jewels of their academy for nothing. PSG did offer what he wanted but De Ligt chose Juventus so he keeps them sweet by helping them feck over a club they hate.

And what newspapers are you referring to by the way? I saw a post by ‘Sky Sources’ or whatever. This is just an example over the years of a focus on Woodward. There is no ‘briefing’ here, there have been a number of articles questioning and discussing the detail of Woodward’s role in recent years. I’m no media whizz, but I don’t think they are what are called briefings.

Also, I don’t ‘defend’ him. I question those who attack him, as I am confident they have nowhere near the information required to do so, at least to the level and detail that they do. I don’t have enough information to say he’s brilliant as such either. But the notion of finger pointing at him for every thing is misplaced and misinformed I suspect, which is more my consistent theme. If there was even a consensus as to what Woodward’s specific duties are, with clear distinction about which decisions he makes himself, which are made by others etc - then fair enough. I’m not sure there is though, which makes all the moaning just seem like emotional brattiness, which is unbecoming!

What do you mean there's no consensus on what Woodward's duties are? Its widely know hes responsible for recruitment. Haven't you seen Mourinho and Ole deferring any questions and saying Woodward is at it in every single presser?

Pepe - an actual RW
Fernandes/Savic - 2 quality midfield additions

Would be a massive improvement for our squad
