That's so cheap. We don't even have any competition for LB. Young will or should be thrown out next season so why the feck not bid for this guy?

Doubt he'd be happy being back up to Shaw or vice versa

Having watched him further than his impressive YouTube clips I don’t actually think he’s good enough. He doesn’t have a good enough touch to ever be an elite.
I actually feel the same. Don't think he's as good as he's being made out to be.

That may be so. But I'd rather have a more reliable LB , then a great LB who's missing half of the season.

They both played the exact same number of games last season with Tierney missing almost half of Celtics premiership games, but Celtic obviously playing more games overall

God knows why we have Young a new contract. We could’ve had AWB and Dalot for right back and Shaw and Tierney for left back.

I mean, the club has difficulties to even strengthen the positions in which we lost players or which we have no specialised player for (RW).

I'd definitely outbid Arsenal by a few million just to piss them off though. :D

But we haven't got unlimited 25ms
There are injury concerns for Shaw after today. That situation will arise again in the upcoming season. Don't you think its good to have a good backup who could also rival him for the position that can only account for healthy competition?

We have to spend 25m only once

Tierney is more injury prone than Shaw

If his guy is so good how does he not play a minute when Ivory Coast needed a match winner in their penalty loss to Algeria in the ACON QF?

I’ve not seen him play admittedly but a player potentially going for 80m would surely be used in these instances? Injury? Poor form?
That is a question I would love for their daft coach to answer. He made 4 subs and actually brought on BONY ahead of Pèpè. Absolutely shocking management. They deserved to get knocked out. There's no question he's a great talent. Scored 35 league goals + 16 assists in 2 seasons.

Obvious this is absolute bollocks. Arsenal don’t have the money to even offer £80m.

One version of this rumour stated that the fee would be spread over several years, which is the only way arsenal could do a deal like this.

Still don't think they'll get him unless they can unload Mhiki and/or Ozil

A bit weird that the mail and mirror both ran that Maguire story at the same time but no one else really has, must have come from somewhere but presumably not reliable enough/ confirmed by the club for the other papers.

And people wanted us to take a punt on him a few weeks ago.

This situation is a mess.

Well if you publicly force a player out, they'll hold all the cards, why would they just leave knowing their club is desperate to offload them, it's the same with Bale at Real, if you want them to leave that badly then pay them off (which is basically what the players are aiming for) - and I dont hold anything against them doing that.

Tierney is Celtic daft mate. He will only leave Celtic if he is guaranteed to be a starter.

Tierney wouldn't be back up to Shaw and Shaw hasn't done enough to keep that lb position frankly. Competition is healthy and lb is till one of the weaker areas in our team. Just because we need a cb, cm and rw slightly more than lb doesn't mean we should ignore a problem position when an excellent player becomes available. We're not fixing rw this season anyway.

Icardi: I ll stay, I ll take my salary but I won't move

Icardi is certainly a problematic individual but on the pitch he's a lethal finisher. The role of a striker is to score goals and we are relying on Rashford who's only clinical ability is to hit row Z on set pieces. If Rashford is good enough to start for this club than Icardi should easily too. There isn't one striker in the market available who's more efficient at scoring goals.

Tierney missed half of last season with injury, had an operation before summer and is out for at least another month with a different injury which seems potentially troublesome to deal with as it can apparently affect his kicking. Definitely good options for leftback but I think right now Tierney is too much of a risk.
