 I thought it was his wife, Italian version of Carmen.
Hmm, maybe now Real M. will get Dabman knowing Pizzaman is out, or DeLigt will sack Pizzaman and uncle Ed (ffs, Edwin, I mean Edwin) will have a word with young man to come to United.
TW not started yet, I'm going nuts, long summer ahead

It is, but for males.

Too heavy? Did Woody mistake him for his agent?

It says we had the option to purchase him last summer, but decided against it because our scout Marcel Bout warned us that De Ligt's father Frank is enormously fat... 'Like father, like son' was the concern.

That's so incredibly stupid I can't even fathom a good retort. Between that and Iscos head size, it's really a bit of a farce.

Chilwell is brilliant. Cresswell from West Ham is another LB that I'd look at but I know he's had injury problems lately.

I think some people have been blinded by the fact that Shaw improved under Mourinho and don't realise that he's still utterly wank.

I'd take a fair few from the Leicester squad tbh. Him, Maddison, Ndidi, Vardy...
Considering Shaw is a mid table (at best) LB (and it’s sad but just have a look at him) and there are literally no LBs behind him for depth, I find it to be as important a position as just about any in the team bar RB and RW.

"We've got Messi on the phone, he wants to join us, said he'll come for half what he's currently being paid"

"Ask him how fat his dad is"

"Lionel, how much does your dad weigh?"

I'm calling absolute bollocks on that De Ligt story. As if we wouldn't sign a player based on how fat his dad is? fecking new low for transfer stories everywhere.

It's ridiculous. There are a great many ex-pro footballers of the highest level who, at middle age, added a lot of weight to their post-football frame, but were slim throughout their entire careers. Look at Koeman, for example, now, but if he had a quality son playing now, you wouldn't not sign him because his dad ended up a fat guy!

I call BS on it too.

Bring on the Shaw jokes

"United boss Jose Mourinho, sacked in December, wanted a centre-back last summer and identified De Ligt as his first-choice target, with Leicester ’s Harry Maguire a fall-back option."

"But United vetoed the move for De Ligt on the basis of Bout’s belief the defender – now recognised as the best in Europe - would pile on the pounds in the coming years and lose his pace and power."

Don't believe it. No. He was 18, which means his body hadn't stropped growing, nor his bones fully developed, yet, somehow our scout was of the impression that a non-fully developed teenager would lose power moving into full adulthood? Come on.

To be fair, it sounds like something we would do. Didn't we pass on Isco because his head was too big, Dzeko because he was too slow over 2 yards and Jordan Henderson because of his ugly gait.

Yet we had Rooney and Shaw on the books at the time who had pretty generous waistlines at certain points.

Good, talents should cost 30-40 m, end products cost 100 m. And Sancho is nowhere near end product.

I think there are a few good cheaper options knocking around for the RW position - I'd take a punt on one of them and spend the bulk of the budget on Midfield/defence instead.

What is talent and end product though

Historically as a club we've done far better with talent compared to 'end product'
