David Anderson & David McDonnell: "PSG have been in talks with Herrera since January and he has now shaken hands on a three-year deal worth £160,000-a-week to move to Paris on a Bosman on July 1. United are prepared to let him leave on a free because they were unwilling to meet his camp’s terms to sign a new deal. Herrera is on around £60,000-a-week and wanted close to £200,000-a-week to stay — to bring him into line with some of the big earners at the club."

What a feck up we are, £60k a week and we are paying Young more, we a in shambles as a club if we couldn't identify that Herrera is a contender for captaincy and we pay him pennies compared to other player.... Seriously I am fecking fuming!!!!!!!

Can we stop comparing against young wages please. He got this in his second or third renewal after 'x' no of service and he is on a rolling contract of one year.

Terms could be different here.

 at the rage

Herrera is decent. If he wants to leave for a big pay rise, fair enough and good bye Ander.

The Young renewal came prior to the apparent change in policy of not giving in to huge pay demands.

They have to draw the line somewhere else nothing changes. If it means a few leave then that's how it has to be. It's not as if they are starving to death on just 60k per week.

Takes me 1.8 years to earn 60k and that's pre tax earnings. I suspect Ander will be in 60k after tax.

Raiola Asked for 14 millions commission to let De ligt go to Barcelona. Ajax told him they will not pay him anything.

Good for Ajax.

I'd rather we gave Ajax 14 million extra and the player a 14 million signing on fee if he agreed never to have any involvement with Raiola.

Well done Ajax. Such a shame that he's chosen Raiola to represent him.

And the failure of Man Utd’s hierarchy to step in as the pair’s relationship dramatically deteriorated threatens to come back to haunt them, with Pogba now keen on a move to Real Madrid.

I don't think the club has done anything other than indulge Pogba. He is the princess of this team.

Sources at United insist they were empowering Mourinho by giving him ultimate control over his squad, which included the authority to fine or drop players.

The audacity of allowing a manager to select his team!

Take a bow James Robson, what a turd of a piece.

I agree with that stance if that's the case. Lukaku won't be missed if he's sold but with the turnover we're already looking at, I don't thing selling and replacing him should be a priority this summer. We simply can't clear out all the players we we would like to see the back of in one summer.

The thing is though, Lukaku is by the worst player we have that has a good transfer value which we need to utilise rebuilding. I dont know, but I kind of have the impression with the world cup and all he probably (wrongly) has a decent reputation on the continent, wonder what foreign fans think of him?

Here we come ala Fred and Alexis!....

Thats what I thought, not a great omen is it £50m transfer for one and £26m wages per season for the other. Barely seen Fernandes apart from Italy, but he seems to have got a lot of sudden hype for a good season after not doing that much the rest of his career, makes you wonder where the hype has come from?

If that's true he can go and good riddance.

We should take the same position with Pogba - if he wants to move then he pays his agent, or Real do; we certainly shouldn’t.

Think I remember hearing that he actually is represented by someone else (possibly his father or a family friend) but they approached Raiola to handle transfers because of his track record.

Might not mean much in reality, but potentially could mean Raiola is in his ear less.

Herrera has come out well in the press from interviews and appears to have the right attitude.........but he is an average player in reality, who hasnt even been a certain starter and wants a big pay rise. The fact there are of course others have been far worse doesnt really justify negotiating a big salary as neither does a good attitude justify leadership ability which I dont personally see.
Others of course I would rather see leave before him, but as a first team player he isnt someone we should be fighting to keep especially if he is prepared to leave. Good luck to him, been a good professional and decent player for us....nothing more

I really hope there's some kind of change in policy regarding salaries.

Would love us to sign De Ligt. But not if it’s based on just signing for us for the money. We are never going to learn

City will be pushing hard for De Ligt. They are willing to let Kompany and Otamendi leave this summer.

Have a feeling he'll go to Barca, especially after their horror show at Anfield. However if he comes to England it will be City for me.

We'll not be getting him.

You can say that about every single one of them apart from De Gea who's been outstanding. I think my opinion on Herrera is about being a leader which he is and that's what we need in our team. I think we need to get rid of other players and try to keep the hard working ones like Herrera here longer while the rebuilding goes on. I agree him asking for a massive pay rise isn't on but we were underpaying him for all these years which isn't right either.

Obviously sets a good example but I dont think just being a hard worker makes you a good leader. I do think it is a good point though in that having Young and Valencia as captains just highlights a major problem within our side which contributes to how poor we have been for some time....there isnt a leader or captain within the side, so maybe you are right in him being captain material, maybe along with Pogba in that they are the current best options, which again isnt a good thing . I think it should be given a lot of thought with transfers actually, a good reason why DeLigt would have been perfect, Romagnoli is another that springs to mind, cant think of any really realistic and attainable others from the top of my head but sure they are out there

They should be, only area they are short at all for me as Otamendi and Stones are decent but make mistakes, Kompany cant stay fit and is creaking. Ready made new captain, world class player in the only area they arent stacked with quality in my opinion

Exactly the kind of players we should be targeting, non of this Gareth Bale bollocks.
Nothing to suggest United want Bale, and it haven't for three/four years now. Don't know why people keep banging this drum.

A manager with the power to drop a player!? What has football come to!?
