We are in dire need of experience. Not against signing an older player and don’t believe it contradicts and overall approach of youth. 50m on rakitic stupid though.

Rakitic would be one of those signings we've changed our approach to avoid, high wages, no resell and past his best

The problem we have though is that we don't have any top quality senior players to guide all the young prospects! I'm all for Rakitic at the right price

Yeah, sounds like bollocks. All the UK press are repeatedly briefing that we’re signing younger players Ole can develop. This is one of those signings we would have made a few years back.

Whilst we are primarily targeting younger British players, that’s not to say we won’t also buy 1 or 2 older, more experienced players too.

Short term option, pretty similar to the Matic deal. Always liked Rakitic, I wanted us to sign him when he was at Sevilla and we were very interested in him back then. Depends on his valuation though, if we're throwing serious money at getting him then it's a mistake. But we do need some experience and leadership.
Rakitic has declined a lot just like Matic though. The Barca fans cant wait for him to leave.

Sure. It won't be one who's already on the way down, after winning everything and looking for his last major contract, though.

Never liked him as a player, overrated imo. Add to that the fact he's old and has said some questionable things, he's right at the bottom of my list of players I'd want here. I'd absolutely hate it if we signed him.

I agree. I really don’t want this guy at our club. He has said some really disgusting things over the years.

Leonardo intends to make his contacts speak on the Italian market. PSG interested in Bonucci and Milinkovic-Savic.

They absolutely are. Promoted teams are spending £17m on midtable teams back up fullbacks. Just as crazy as £75m on Lukaku. Sign of the times.

Ye I meant it isn't crazy that they've increased though, it's the same as everything else in life and I don't see the point in getting hung up on it really. When you buy a house, you can get hung up on the fact that once upon a time you would have spent £20,000, but are now spending £200,000, but it won't do you any good. Houses don't cost 20k anymore and you don't buy a promising striker for less than 20 million anymore either.

I'm not hung up on anything really. Just mentioned it.

And transfer prices have gone up disproportionately to many many other things. Especially when you consider the time frame.

Didn't he have a run in with Perriera in Spain as well?
