It's a combination of factors:
In my opinion, we as fans should be putting a hell of a lot more pressure on the owners to act accordingly and swiftly reorganise the hierarchy of Manchester United. That's why I'm firmly in support of the "Glazers out" movement, even if it results in only achieving the required changes.
- players are on high wages that don't correspond to their footballing abilities;
- expectations to get big fees for them;
- lack of ambition in the players in question to play first team football - it seems most are happy to sit tight and receive the already secured paychecks;
- no adequate football vision from the board, which consists of business people that have no real idea how the sport works.
I think the average players on high wages is the killer though. It's something that plagued City after Abu Dhabi's early largesse.
