Considering we sold Zaha back to Crystal palace for a ridiculously low price they are taking the piss if they are insisting on the clause being removed.

I think Palace are currently functioning at their absolute limit financially - not surprised they're trying to get as much out of this as possible. They must be fuming that no-one else is in for him this window though, because us moving on would be a real worry for them.

FFS, just feck them and sign someone else.
This!
50 million in cash plus ads ons plus the clause on Zaha which is worth at least 15-20 million. So what's that, 65-70 million plus add ons? :wenger:
He's worth about 2/3rds of that and that's being generous

It's a combination of factors:
  • players are on high wages that don't correspond to their footballing abilities;
  • expectations to get big fees for them;
  • lack of ambition in the players in question to play first team football - it seems most are happy to sit tight and receive the already secured paychecks;
  • no adequate football vision from the board, which consists of business people that have no real idea how the sport works.
In my opinion, we as fans should be putting a hell of a lot more pressure on the owners to act accordingly and swiftly reorganise the hierarchy of Manchester United. That's why I'm firmly in support of the "Glazers out" movement, even if it results in only achieving the required changes.

After 5 years, Woodwoodwood should have plenty of idea how the sport works by now, this is no longer an excuse. It may be that we are paying for past mistakes made when he was inexperienced.

I'd be worried if I were a Palace fan. Does it mean Zaha is off?
I assume at some stage they will cash in on him, media said that they wont sell both him and AWB in one window. Would be hard to say no though if they got the clause removed, sold AWB for £50 mil and someone came in with £70 mil for Zaha.

I don't think it means Zaha is leaving, but rather that Palace want to secure the maximum amount for him. If we have a 20% stake in any future sale then they'll up his price even more. Which then makes a sale less likely. Remove the clause and they can sell for less but still make just as much.

Well feck them then, when is this guys contract up anyway? Take him on a free then, if they feel like "bantering." Would still happen earlier than agreeing a deal with them by the looks of it. fecking clowns.

If that isn't an eye opener to everybody including Woodward, I don't know what is! Finishing 2nd under Mourinho year before, it felt we fell off a cliff end of this season, I think we have actually fallen off planet earth not a cliff. Palace laughing off our champions league ambitions! Unbelievable

Fair play to them. It's a stupid offer.

Why would we offer that and why would any club accept it given our current state? More ineptitude from the monkeys running the ship.

Offering that clause is just asking for our offer to get declined and us to get taken the piss out of. Absolute clowns in positions of authority at this club.

Stupidity of that offer if its true.

This club is run by morons. I bet we'll remove the clause and give them 50 mil when it really should be 30 mil plus removal of clause.

If we remove the zaha clause, they’ll basically have gotten him for free. Ed Woodward ladies and gentlemen

I mean that's fine and all, but considering this is a piece from a Palace connected journo, it very much seems like PR from CP and how they want to frame the AWB sale. I don't think any amount of sass is going to remedy the fact they are possibly losing two of their most important players this summer though.

Compared to the transfers of Shaw, Schneiderlin and Lukaku, which were all done with significantly less press fuss, it seems like they really enjoy their media posturing at Palace.

Compared to our club captain he's like Baresi and Maldini rolled into one.

Yeah but compared to a complete right back, which is what we are aiming for, he falls some way short.

Those are the sort of clauses I'd chuck in on FM :lol:

If this centre back scores 20 league goals next season, you'll get an additional £10m!

Yeah well if we are aiming to get a compete RB, Bissaka is far from a complete RB. Meunier is a steal at 22 mill pounds and considering how many holes we have in our squad to fill, paying nearly 3 times that for a player who IMO isn't even twice as good as Meunier is utter stupidity. Not to mention we have Liard and Dalot coming though.

Sarabia's move to PSG for his €18m clause could happen this week.

Says how delusional we are that we are Manchester United and CL win are a certainty. We haven't won one for 11 years, why would we now? They really need to wake up to the real world.
I don't know how clauses work but I'm assuming that the clause would mean Palace gets 15 mill if and when we win CL as long as Bissaka is playing for us. I mean, I'm not very optimistic about the future of the club, but I don't think it's so far fetched to assume that United will win the CL once in the next 10-12 years (Bissaka being 21, I expect him to be at United for 10-12 years)
