Put it this way....Juve is willing to sell Dybala and replace him with Chiesa. For a club with Champions League ambitions you have to ask yourself why? The answer is simple...because Dybala isn't as good as the hype he created a couple of years ago. If he was then he would have gotten better, not declined...

Or he doesn't fit the style with Ronaldo as their main man. It's too simplistic to simply say 'not good enough for them, not good enough for us' that's how we missed out on Robben and Sneijder

It's not so black and white, if Ole sees Dybala as potential versatile forward as he as said that could be the base of our attacks, where Rashford and Martial can roam around, it's cool.

I don't want us to pay 100m for a player who isn't an automatic starter for his club or country. And we didn't miss out on Robben because we didn't think he was good enough. We missed out on him because he choose Chelsea over us. I don't remember what happened with Sneijder

Dybala is an excellent foward. How can anyone deem him not good enough is baffling. And whats with the no South American thing? Are people really that superstitious? We made shit signings ofcourse they didnt work out. Half of the best players in Europe are South American.

So excellent he is deemed surplus to requirements by Juve

Heard he isn't fitting in with Ronaldo. Hardly a crime to be displaced by a once-in-a-generation player.

They were looking at offloading him last year before Ronaldo was there. But lets pretend its because of Ronaldo who displaced Higuain

Fact is Dybala when it came to the crunch of stepping up in the later stages of important competitions like the UCL just didn't cut it

Chiesa is a very good player, but arent we under playing Dybala a little there? 18 months ago he was one of the most exciting talents around, in comes Ronaldo and he doesnt fits in to the plans.
Would be a fantastic signing quality wise, as would Chiesa for them, good deal for both parties....though not sure how we would use Dybala

Dybala is a luxury player and can only play one position which is as a support striker. Personally, I don't find him creative enough nor pacey. His off the ball movement isn't that great too. Majority of his goals were from set pieces. Also, he doesn't seem to have the nimbleness and agility to him like before. He looks cumbersome, heavy and even more sluggish these days. Did he bulk up or what?

I would rather we get the two players lined up for his replacement, I mean both Felix and Chiesa. Chiesa is quite pacey and has got terrific movement which could be deadly in a creative team while Felix is capable of leading a front line and he's quite visionary and nimble.

I'm talking when he left Madrid, we could have easily insisted on players when we sold Ronaldo, however we decided to go with the same ideas you are now conveying.

As for Dybala not being an automatic starter for club or country, he's ousted purely by Ronaldo and Messi, it's not exactly hard to see why

Dybala? Some of the players we're being linked to as a Europa League team.

We need to target young players with something to prove, Dybala would be brought down to the level of this squad within six months and just be another one on massive money.

He's 25 years old mate

Ronaldo and Messi play completely different positions than he does. Dybala's preferred position is as a #10. He also plays as a RW for Juve. CR7 plays neither of those positions. He's either a striker or LW.

He wouldn't be the issue, the squad would continue to be. I don't think one or two quality signings will turn things around, the players would continue to contribute minimal effort and collect massive money. If a player joins this squad of mentally fragile and checked out players, how long before he follows suit?

Lingard isn't incorrect in his assertions, however, I do agree with the editing as to not show those comments in public. Whether or not it is true, we need every edge possible moving into the transfer window, and the last thing other prospective players need is reason not to join.
A bit late now. Maybe Jesse should have emphasized it to his teammates.

Lingard suggesting United need CL football to attract top players, yet he is a Man United player

Can’t wait to the loser is out of the club. Don’t care if he’s a local lad or whatever nonsense is spouted to go in his favour.

You’ve got a very black and white view of things. It doesn’t work like that

The irony of his comments is staggering.

PS He isn't local. He's Warrington, on the Mersey. Mostly Liverpool fans

Dybala made his name as a striker that drops deep, most of the teams play runs through him and he's the focal point. With Messi or Ronaldo in the side that isn't possible, and is part of the reason Dybala has been shunted to RW. Whilst it's possible to have them both in the same side, it isn't possible to do it whilst maximising what you'd get from either player.

Is anyone really even bothered about City buying players anymore? It's not like they can get substantially better than they already are. They could keep the same exact squad they have now, not buy a single player whilst everyone else around them does, and they'd still enter next season as favorites.

Back to back ~100 point seasons for them. Not like they'll get any scarier than they already are.

This.
And new players can easily destabilise the current team as we've seen many mang times before with great looking teams.

They are prolonging their stay at the top. They sign top players every summer and we cant even sign one top CB or winger.
