I agree the caf is very toxic right now, but the meltdown over a clickbait tweet  some need to seriously get a grip.

It’s funny to watch  City close to signing a player United making notes... fans go crazy. We’ve been linked with him since god knows when I’m sure we don’t need a last minute scout report before deciding to bid or be out bid. Our decision on targets have been made.

Yes, really. That's what every big club does.

Are you f*cking kidding me? That is NOT the way that we do it. At least it isn't when we have been our most successful. We buy young or under the radar players and let players become big names at Manchester United. It's very rare that we buy ready made super star players, and when we do, they rarely work out.

You're conflating two things. We buy top talent, Bayern does, Real does, Barcelona does. Those come in to complement what we already have.

You're being a bit silly and selective. Nistelrooy, Saha, Stam, Ferdinand, Berbatov, Andy Cole, Dwight Yorke, Sheringham, Rooney and numerous others were hardly unknowns and cost a lot of money.

What under the radar kids have we brought in, not from our academy, have turned out into top top players? Even Ronaldo was a record fee for a teenager before Rooney.

I never said we don't buy big names. I said we rarely do. And when we do, the ones who have been successful for the most part have been EPL players. But the low key players from other leagues are guys like Evra, Vidic, Nani, Anderson, etc. Players who nobody predicted that we would buy and that we didn't pay huge money for. So in the case of Fernandes, why are we looking to buy him now for 50m when we could have had him last year for 10m? Why did we look to buy Maguire for 70m when we could have bought him from Hull City for a fraction of that? The way we have been working the past few years we will probably put in a big bid for a player like Dybala while Juve use a tiny bit of that money to buy a player like Chiesa knowing he will be better than Dybala anyways.

What a lovely tweet to start the day

Solskjaer does not expect to make a significant number of signings this summer, though, and is aware that he will have to find a way to improve the players he already has.

“We’ve got to get it right on the pitch with the ones we have; it’s not just about signing players,” he said. “It’s about making sure that the ones here get the maximum out of their potential, because we do have so many good players here, and that’s my job, to work with them. At the moment, I’m responsible for the performances. I’m the one that should get that flak if there is some.”

Get rid, the last thing we need is another yes man in charge of the players. Everything about this club at the moment stinks. It's an utter disgrace

We have less bargaining power with Pogba now so I'm just waiting for the reduced transfer fee figures popping up in tweets.

and Rio thought we did a mistake letting him go to Arsenal. This tell you that our legends is nowhere near qualified to be DOF.

Half the fan base seemed to think it was a mistake. And for years every one of his 4 goals a year would be met with genuine "shouldn't have let him go" nonsense.

Makes no sense, why would we reduce the fee, contract situation is unchanged.

Danny Welbeck needs to stay fit and reinvent himself in a completely different position to stay in the league. I don't think he's either a striker or a winger, may be try it out as an energetic box to box midfielder.

Getting top 4 has some bargaining power that we no longer have. When a club is in a worse position than before, holding on to a talent like Pogba is harder. Madrid know we can't play as hardball as before, we can't offer him CL and the chance to kick on with some signings, it's much harder to smooth things over and talk Pogba into staying, unless he has some unknown love for the club and wants to see out a rebuild it seems inevitable now he's on his way out and we have nothing to tempt him to stay. We aren't going to enslave him and will take Madrid's offer.

Disagree. Because it is in no relation to the quality of the player. If they want him they can pay up he has a contract end of story. Of course doesn't mean thats what our club will do but thats how our CEO or DOF should behave.

Just look at Southampton and VVD, they got the maximum out of Liverpool, its about how you negotiate more than anything

What fee do you think Pogba will sell for if he goes to Madrid?

Our bargaining power is having him on a huge long contract still.

No way anyone's getting him cheap

Cheaper, not cheap. I'm thinking 10-30 million cheaper is all.

What fee do you think he'll go for?

I thought he was better on the wing for us than through the middle.

He doesn't have the goalscoring output to be playing anywhere in attack. His best qualities are his ability to pressure and play in tight spaces.

Half of the fan base is obsessed with work rate and not talent.

#Pjanic a Canal +: "My goal for the next few years is to win the Champions. I'm in a huge club, which I respect a lot. Future? Everything is possible in football, but we need everyone to agree. I'm thinking about finishing the season. I need to go on vacation and then we'll see. "

#Pjanic on #Psg: "He is one of the eight largest clubs in Europe, and in Champions they want to go further than they have been able to do so far. This is a club where all the players would like to go, because there is a sports project and there are great players. " [Canal +]

Levy : Oh, Mauricio, you did a great job again, you're in for a treat!! I'm gonna give you a warchest! How's that sound, kid?
Poch : Really?! Wow, yes! Finally, I can get 3-4 top class players to push for a major trophy now! How much?
Levy : I'm pleased to tell you we've managed to guarantee you a hundred WHOLE million!
Poch : ...........a.....hundred?
Levy : You got it! Knock 'em dead, kid!
