We've signed a nobody from the Championship. Explain, how I am delusional to not expect anything from him straight-away?

Lukaku won't be leaving for free will he?

We can get Meunier for cheap. Bruno reported £80mil (i expect that's Pogba backup), Pepe £70mil.

We spent nothing last summer.

We should have enough funds available if we're serious.

He's not a nobody. He's a full Welsh International and an exciting young player. He's 21 so won't be coming to play in our reserves.

Not played a game for us yet and already been slated. Unreal.

We aren't going to solve every issue this summer. Not happening. You clearly haven't listened to Ole. He has said 4/5 signings and it's going to take a few years. He's right too.

I don't think our fans appreciate how we aren't going to solve all these problems in one summer. If you think that you are going to end up being gutted in 2 months.

I think it's going to take next 3 windows for us to get something close to what we need.

Sorry to burst your bubble. I don't think we will sign another winger this summer. Probably get a striker if Lukaku leaves and an attacking midfielder if Pogba goes.

Right back, Centre back and Herrera replacement are the three priorities for me now.

Don't think we will sign 6-7 players in one summer. Just not realistic.

I'm not slating him at all. He's one for the future, for us to develop. A back-up player. Nothing wrong with that.

You yourself said, 4/5 signings this summer. That's what i'm saying. Pepe, Meunier, Bruno/Rabiot, De Ligt/other CB, Lukaku replacement.

We're saving money getting Meunier instead of AWB. If Pogba stays, get Rabiot instead of Bruno. That's Pepe's fee sorted. I don't see the issue.

It doesn't make sense though. We should try to solve as many issues as we can, as long as it is within our means. Why would you want to handicap yourself?

We should have a big budget available considering the shitshow that was last season & we hardly spent anything last summer too.

We will save money on their replacements even if they leave.

You would prioritise getting a Herrera replacement over a RW?

Why do we have to choose either/or?

Hahahaha. Don't want much then? I genuinely don't think we have a prayer at that list with where we are. None whatsoever.

Also.....the 1 or 2 reliable Journalists here in UK have been briefed that Ole is looking for young British talent and you list 4 foreign players.

I hate to break it to you but we aren't going to be competing for the title next season. We are going to build something for 2-3 years off now is my feeling. You need to suck it up.
 
I agree with that I think a max. Of 4 players per transfer window ,we already signed James so 3 more . A centre half a Right back and a midfielder is what i see coming in

I think Rashford and Martial will be given till the January transfer to make CF their own

3 windows is only 12 months pal. It's not that unrealistic. You're the type of modern day United fan that doesn't understand how this all works. We aren't a quick fix anymore. This is a long way back for us now.

I'm not fussed about De Ligt tbh, if we need to get a cheaper CB to to fund other positions then fair enough.

Bruno is a Pogba replacement.

You're the one who mentioned Lukaku replacement. I don't think he will go but if he was to go... It wouldn't be an equivalent exchange anyway. We would save money.

Just because you've lost all hope, does not mean the club isn't capable of landing these players. We brought Pogba with no CL football.

It really will be a long way back with your strategy.

It doesn't have to be that way at all. Like i said, we brought Pogba here in our current position. We are capable of all our targets if we're serious enough.

I'm not a modern day United fan too so please do not try to tell me what I do and don't understand.

~£150mil adding in Rabiot' agent/signing-on fees

If Lukaku leaves, cheaper replacement = save money.
If Pogba leaves, cheaper replacement = Bruno £80mil will be much less than Pogba fee.

How is that unrealistic?

Just look at Real Madrid. Had an awful season, signed the best player from the prem, one of the highest scoring strikers in the bundesliga and a promising defender from the portugese league. They sure know how not to waste anytime when "rebuilding".

Seems to me that some people on our board want the fans to believe that this rebuild will take a few years. If we functioned like other top clubs do, we could have closed the gap on our rivals. Instead, a club the size of Manchester United is still fecking stuck in rebuilding limbo.

I don't think the prices are going to differ that much. They are around the correct prices.

Pepe might cost up to £90mil max. He's the only one who's value is up for debate. Lille are open to selling him so he's attainable.

Alderweireld has a £25mil buyout clause.
Meunier: PSG are reportedly after £25mil for him. Can't see his value being more than that.
Rabiot: apparently we've offered 5mil euros signing on fee. He is reportadly after 10mil & I included the 10mil.
James: £20mil is the fee apparently.

So we can get all those targets for around £170mil combined.

Real is the most prestigious club in the world. Many of the greatest players in the game have worn their shirt and they're managed by Zidane. Players would crawl to the Bernabeu over broken glass to sign for them.

To be fair they did move away from simply translating to posting their opinions on what is happening. You would think they were Frazier Crane with the way they were carrying on during the Fekir saga

They have accumulated knowledge based on years reporting and translating, so you would expect them to be able to know which piece is more reliable than the other. They still translate the news first and then give their spin on it. Since most transfer related news turn out to be horseshit anyway, their tweets are also not reliable logically. It would help if people would take the time and skim the piece in a minute instead of reading only the headline. It gives the impression they are the source, which they arent 95% of the time

Not really. I'd also feel pretty tepid about signing a 21 year old jamesinho if all he had was a decent season in the championship. Might be a good buy, play some games this season and some good cover options, but the lad is a relatively average talent and bournmouth were our rivals for his signature. Pep is hardly shaking in his bed.

Still hope it works out well for him, but let s not forget the level we need to reach. James is miles away from being ready ( if ever, and my bet is on no) and next season should not be riding on his shoulders

But they're basically translators though, there's no hidden knowledge to be found. Hell the world is so connected that there's a tier system in play when evaluating stories.
I once pointed it out to them during that Fekir summer when they were basing their stories on where they thought the Lyons presidents mindset was and it was garbage quite frankly. Only got a laughing smilie as a response.
There was that time when they did try to claim stories as their own.
They're bilingual, not transfer media savants.
They have settled down now though, more focused on what the media are saying rather than trying to put their spin on them
