Yes, really. That's what every big club does.
You're conflating two things. We buy top talent, Bayern does, Real does, Barcelona does. Those come in to complement what we already have. Are you f*cking kidding me? That is NOT the way that we do it. At least it isn't when we have been our most successful. We buy young or under the radar players and let players become big names at Manchester United. It's very rare that we buy ready made super star players, and when we do, they rarely work out.

You're being a bit silly and selective. Nistelrooy, Saha, Stam, Ferdinand, Berbatov, Andy Cole, Dwight Yorke, Sheringham, Rooney and numerous others were hardly unknowns and cost a lot of money.
What under the radar kids have we brought in, not from our academy, have turned out into top top players? Even Ronaldo was a record fee for a teenager before Rooney.
What a lovely tweet to start the day
Solskjaer does not expect to make a significant number of signings this summer, though, and is aware that he will have to find a way to improve the players he already has.
“We’ve got to get it right on the pitch with the ones we have; it’s not just about signing players,” he said. “It’s about making sure that the ones here get the maximum out of their potential, because we do have so many good players here, and that’s my job, to work with them. At the moment, I’m responsible for the performances. I’m the one that should get that flak if there is some.”
and Rio thought we did a mistake letting him go to Arsenal. This tell you that our legends is nowhere near qualified to be DOF.
We have less bargaining power with Pogba now so I'm just waiting for the reduced transfer fee figures popping up in tweets.

Makes no sense, why would we reduce the fee, contract situation is unchanged.
Getting top 4 has some bargaining power that we no longer have. When a club is in a worse position than before, holding on to a talent like Pogba is harder. Madrid know we can't play as hardball as before, we can't offer him CL and the chance to kick on with some signings, it's much harder to smooth things over and talk Pogba into staying, unless he has some unknown love for the club and wants to see out a rebuild it seems inevitable now he's on his way out and we have nothing to tempt him to stay.
I thought he was better on the wing for us than through the middle.Danny Welbeck needs to stay fit and reinvent himself in a completely different position to stay in the league. I don't think he's either a striker or a winger, may be try it out as an energetic box to box midfielder.
Disagree. Because it is in no relation to the quality of the player. If they want him they can pay up he has a contract end of story. Of course doesn't mean thats what our club will do but thats how our CEO or DOF should behave.
Just look at Southampton and VVD, they got the maximum out of Liverpool, its about how you negotiate more than anything

We aren't going to enslave him and will take Madrid's offer.
Our bargaining power is having him on a huge long contract still.
No way anyone's getting him cheap
Cheaper, not cheap. I'm thinking 10-30 million cheaper is all.
What fee do you think he'll go for?
Without any doubt, over 100m at least.
I thought he was better on the wing for us than through the middle.
Half of the fan base is obsessed with work rate and not talent.Half the fan base seemed to think it was a mistake. And for years every one of his 4 goals a year would be met with genuine "shouldn't have let him go" nonsense.
#Pjanic a Canal +: "My goal for the next few years is to win the Champions. I'm in a huge club, which I respect a lot. Future? Everything is possible in football, but we need everyone to agree. I'm thinking about finishing the season. I need to go on vacation and then we'll see. "
A warchest...of 100m![]()
If we offer him a contract i will explode
