Cancelo is super attacking in his style. Exactly what we need. Let's see if this has any truth to it.

One of the worst. I remember a few years back he fell for a made up transfer rumour on twitter and started giving it credence. I just can't remember the exact details now. We even had a laugh on here about him.

Ah righto, fist of salt then

Havertz. A CM we have to be all in. Tielemans could be a good bet too and not expensive.

If we had bought him instead of Juve, guess where we would of played him? Right fecking wing just like Dalot.

Ander Herrera will sign with PSG. the most likely signing of a 2nd midfielder at the moment is Donny Van de Beek, Antero Henrique is also progressing very well on signings of David Nerés and David De Gea

Herrera is going nowhere, his people are bluffing us. The PSG links look way too far fetched both in terms of contract length and salary.

Something about it doesn't seem right to me either. He's free to sign with them now, so if he was really going to, I think he would have by now.

He might still go there, but I think he wants United to blink first before looking elsewhere.

Yep. No way this board let's him go on a free.

PSG and Manchester United are in contact with the entourage of Alex Sandro. Despite the recent extension offer for Layvin Kurzawa, the Paris club's desire is to sell the French international. Everton came to the news this winter.

When I see Van De Beek play I just can't shake the feeling he's the new Davy Klassen.

Klassen had a forgettable performance against us and doesn't do well in big game unlike Van De Beek. Besides, Van De Beek isn't a no 10 but a central midfielder!

How do you rate Vs De Beek compared with Fernandes?

First, Van De Beek is a central midfielder whereas Fernandes is more of an attacker although Van De Beek has been mostly deployed as a no 10 this season to accommodate Frenkie and Schone in the midfield but his best position is as a no 6 and 8. His spatial awareness, movement, positioning are quite terrific in any of the role he found himself. I think when deployed in the central midfield, he more of a playmaker. This was my post after our match against Ajax in the final. (I actually thought de Ligt was left footed)

I haven't seen much of Fernandes though except his compilation highlight. I would have loved to see his individual touches in each game but I have searched and searched but couldn't find one. However I checked his stats against big opposition such as Arsenal, Porto, Benfica and they weren't good enough for me. His touches for example were horrible in those matches. I think he's more of a goal scoring attacker than a midfielder.

There was a time we had a similar relationship with Sporting Lisbon.

United and other big clubs have the luxury of waiting for players to truly blossom before they invest in them. Money's not an issue.

That has got to be one of the worst replies I have ever heard. Really? We can afford to wait on players and then pay more? What kind of logic is that???

I don't think it's illegal. We've even had a partnership which was similar in the past with SCP and got Ronaldo thanks to Carlos Queiroz.

I don't think there was anything in print that stated that we had a partnership with SCP. It was because Carlos had the connections but the tweet suggests like a preference to sell to City first. That doesn't sound very fair especially since it's not down to the club but the players as well to where they would like to go.

This from Daniel Taylor good enough for you?

"Sir Alex Ferguson's feelings on the matter are not clear but the United manager has always cited the relationship with Sporting when explaining why Ronaldo moved to Old Trafford in 2003 when Real Madrid, Barcelona, Arsenal and several others also wanted him. Under the terms of the agreement, Sporting had to inform United of any bids and offer them first refusal".

Fair enough.

Barca have signed another very highly rated Dutch teenager it seems.

What a lovely tweet to start the day

Solskjaer does not expect to make a significant number of signings this summer, though, and is aware that he will have to find a way to improve the players he already has.

“We’ve got to get it right on the pitch with the ones we have; it’s not just about signing players,” he said. “It’s about making sure that the ones here get the maximum out of their potential, because we do have so many good players here, and that’s my job, to work with them. At the moment, I’m responsible for the performances. I’m the one that should get that flak if there is some.”
