I have no problem with Damien editing my post. I've got a lot of respect for Damien and he's a great guy.

If you have a problem with my post, then report my post instead of being childish with your smileys and derailing the thread.

You and others who posts tweets make it easy for us to follow transfers but it's always better to avoid the BS accounts. Just post the direct link or from proper accounts.

He didn't, when he posted it was from https://twitter.com/UtdXtra_ (that's when I replied saying that' a fake account)

Later Damien edited the post and included Redcafe twitter account.

It wasn't a big issue, I just said it's better to avoid tweets from BS accounts, which is as per the rule.
 
I clearly included the source which was Corriea De Manha and mentioned it was tier 4. But ok..

Think it would be the best time to take it for him. He isn't under pressure of signings and gets to work with the Chelsea youth who he'd undoubtedly know better than most. There won't be a mountain of expectation on him and it will be a rare circumstance where the club would prefer to see their talent pool organically grow which pulls power away from bigger names in the dressing room.
 
Feels like every single player these days have a €100m clause like what the feck?

Oh I can see where you're coming from, and as I said meant no offense to any accountants on here. I'm just saying that in my experience, balance sheets are not the most accurate reflection of a company's liabilities and assets. I don't know what UK law is like, but it is a fundamental tenet of U.S. corporate law that businesses have the right to re-value their assets - what this leads to is a much murkier picture of a company's financial standing.

*Disclaimer - I am in business/corporate law, hoping to move into tax, so my experience is probably much different than yours*

He was almost ours, everything was done and we messed it up.

Yeah, if we can't sign players like Koulibaly, De Ligt then we should try to sign him.

Any chance we can split the transfer tweets section into 2?

1 for tweets with bs/unverified sources or from aggregator sites for muppets

And another for the solid gold stuff (e.g. Di Marzio, Romano, etc)
 
Corriere della Sera are a Milan based outlet. Not sure how reliable they're.


 
My mate toldme about donnarumma a couple of weeks back. Maybe hes an itk...

Think he saw it in the italian press somewhere.
 
We don't need to spend 50-60 million to replace De Gea. Just play Romero and rotate with Henderson!

Well he’s just 20 and if we buy him, we can get good 10 years from him. I personally don’t think Romero is good enough to be first choice and don’t have much of an idea about Henderson other than what I have read here. If you ask me, we should sell Romero and DDG for 40,50 million and buy this lad, promote Henderson to #2 (if he’s ready) and Grant can be third choice.

With regards to donnarumma, I haven’t seen him play much other than the occasional highlights video. If he’s good on the ball and has all the traits required by a modern keeper, he’s the best young keeper we can buy.
Also looks like we are doing a FM Style squad revamp. De Ligt, donnarumma, Felix, Sancho, Longstaff on top of Rashford, Lingard... that list contains many of the top under 20 talents of this generation

Just go on Twitter if you really want to see BS tweets as that's all you will get, at least on here you know most of the time it's a solid source and there won't be any rif raf.

I’ve always been curious about footballers as assets on a balance sheet. How are they held? Surely not as fixed assets with straight-line depreciation, because it’s meaningless. They should be held effectively like investment properties and be subject to impairment and revaluation. Take Harry Maguire for example. Bought for 17M, next year his fair value is around 65M. Or alexis Sanchez. Bought effectively for nothing. What is he revalued to ? (And don’t say nothing cos he’s useless). Any accountants out there familiar with with the accounting rules for players?
